How crowded will it be tomorrow? We are going to Burts and might drive up. What's the entrance fee?

Too much to list, but enough to get me in trouble. Repeatedly.
I know it's just a coincidence on the timing, but after today's body recovery over on the SCOR Facebook page, and last weekend's shenanigans with Brad and Madison, it's worth noting:

If you're going to leave pavement, make sure you're prepared for a worst-case scenario. Not just the basics like a jack and strap and a bottle of water, but food and water for days, and clothing appropriate for the time of year and location. Gilligan's Island may be a stupid teevee show, but a 3-hour trail run could turn into a week-long adventure with broken bones and brush hiding your location. Make sure you're ready! And at least as importantly, know the area and know your limits BEFORE you go!

If you aren't a part of SCOR (SoCal Offroad Recovery), I suggest checking them out. Today's posts highlight the importance of the group's existence.

Sorry to hear it. There are some things you should never do alone. Wheeling is one of them.

    I disagree.

No one should wheel alone *WHO ISN'T PREPARED TO DEAL WITH THE WORST-CASE SCENARIO.*

My rolled thread got into that. I refer you there for details.

edit: You were talking to everyone else. I keep forgetting that part.

Disagree all you want, but until you have helped remove a body of some who was prepared, then we can discuss it. Doesn't matter what gear you have all it takes is bumping your head.

How to be "prepared" while off road: Take a wilderness first aid class or even just a regular first aid class.

Also, knowing how the hell your recovery equipment works and how to properly use it. Mostly focus on the first aid part. That shit can come in use anywhere.

I did today in the snow. Although i agree with you too an extent, wheeling alone if prepaired and smart will 9 out of 10 times get the job done.

If out solo, you should make sure someone knows, at least roughly, the area you will be out in and your anticipated return time. That way if you don't return they have an idea of where to look.

*Slow-painful death would be worst case. A quick one ain't so bad.
