So, I got this cool tacoma bed net.. I put the cleats on backwards near the tailgate. Backed the passenger one out, and flipped around easily. I stripped the driver side ones out, and snapped the head off of one of the bolts. So, I drilled them out, but now a sheet metal screw won't grab in the hole. Made them too big for any available sheet metal screw.. UGH!

Been looking for some kind of anchors that I can put in, and tighten down without having to take apart the panel... It seems like way too much breakdown to add a nut to the back of this. I want something simple to drop in there. Pictured is the net I have. The small pic is where that cleat attaches just near the tailgate. I rushed the install, kinda mad at myself. Thought it would be cake like it should have been. Thanks!maxresdefault.jpg Screen Shot 2015-12-27 at 4.16.28 PM.jpg

The bed is made of plastic (polyester). You must use a back plate to put force on it. The D rings I installed are tied into the frame.

Something like this? If you remove the tail light you can install one of these with a nut on the back side.

This would be a much better option the provided cleats kinda suck. Doubt I could get a bungee cord in it.

I think removing the light will solve this! Thanks, not doing this in the dark tonight. Will have to wait, but now I have a plan thanks to you guys. So glad I asked!

@weldo Dude, this worked like a charm, I was able to get a ratchet right up in there. I used stainless hardware. My god I turned this simple project into a fiasco. I lost the tail light screws, I brought them inside to dry off. Put in a paper towel on the kitchen window. Picked them up at some point and have no clue where I put them. Hand screwed in a couple of bolts that used to be on my TJ just to keep the light from rattling. Guess It's part Jeep now. LOL!

    Thanks again everyone. Spence

Right on dude! That's actually a good mod for anyone, cargo net or not! I like the low profile loops you used. You can never have too many tie downs.

Those came with the net that my wife bought for me. Still can't find the tail light screws. LOL! So ridiculously simple, yet I complicated the hell out of this.
