I talked to him about clear bra on my headlights when he did the hood black a few weeks back, he wasn't sure if that product acts like the vinyl but I'm sure if you wanted him to do it he would try!!

I would think it would apply somewhat like vinyl. I've done some vinyl work before but not to sure about doing my headlights and getting it real smooth

Clear bra is thicker then vinyl. The only hard part was getting it around the sides of the headlight. They had to heat it and stretch it around the sides. I did notice that they also applied it similar to tint where they wet both sides of it and then worked out the water from the backside.

    OK. Back to this project.

    https://www.instagram.com/p/_0b6dbKXeI/

My goal was to 2 part:

    1. Wire up the front fog lights in the grill to be on with a switch
    2. Wire up the strobe relay to the 2 lights in the grill and the 2 lights on the bed rack. These would be to a separate switch.
So first problem was that I didn't have anymore room in the Blue Sea 6ct fuse bank to do this. So I upgraded to a Blue Sea 12ct fuse bank. Once that got everything switched over and installed I could move forward with the wiring on this. I had a pre-built wiring harness from another light set that I did not use before so I decided to use it. I got the harness pulled through the firewall and the waterproof connector for the Baja Design lights wired up in front, love those waterproof connectors. I then moved on to wiring the switches and the strobe relay inside.

I used this relay for the flash action - https://www.etrailer.com/Accessories-and-Parts/Custer/STR-MRLY.html

It's really a straight forward install. You get power to the switches and then the outgoing wire goes to this relay and from the relay to whatever lights you want to flash. It has 2 common grounds and also a green wire on it that will adjust the pattern. The relay comes with 12 different patterns. If you were really ambitious you could wire up this wire to a momentary switch so you could change patterns on the fly but I was not worried about this. I touched the green wire to power and changed the pattern until I found the one I liked. Wired it all up and thought I was good to go. Thank goodness I was just "twist" testing it all first because I hit a snag. When I turned on the switch that was to be constant for the fog lights it also turned on the back lights. :( Same thing happened when I turned on the back up light switch for constant. I thought I was being slick and I shared one wiring harness for both the constant power and the flash relay up front. Pretty sure this caused my issue. Running low on energy and time I pulled another wire through the firewall and up front and connected it to the lights PAST the relay. That fixed the issue up front but still when I turn on the back up light switch the fog lights come on too. So my next thought was that it was because they had a common ground. So I separated them with no luck. The only other thing I could do was separate the power coming in from the battery... I said fuck it no big deal there so I finished up the wiring and called it a day.

In the long run what i needed to do was pull 2 complete separate power feeds back to the switches with separate grounds and then separate out going leads from the strobe relay to each set of lights.

Didn't really get any cool pics so I will have to go back out to the truck and get some. :D

So my DDM Tuning HID kit finally had a bulb go out so I replaced it with a new kit. This time I went with 55w ballasts and 5500k bulbs. Much whiter light and the kit has gotten some huge improvements over the one I got 3 years ago. And here is the end result.

    20160101_183721.jpg

And here is a little video from playing around at the park making sure everything was aimed decently.
