Are 'pulse spark plugs' legit?

    Got this from the www: "Pulse plugs have the appearance and fit of standard spark plugs but they also contain a capacitor. The capacitor increases the sparks intensity, more efficiently igniting fuel and increasing power and gas mileage".

    Sounds good (too good?), but I never heard of them before...

    Pulstar Plugs I think you mean. I'm not willing to pay $25 per plug to find out, I'll use that money for gas instead.

    Im not sure if they are legit or not. They have a dyno graph :)rolleyes:) for a 350z that shows an improvement in h.p., however, there was a guy over at CT that installed them and started to have some "lean out" issues with his truck. Being as the ingnition is engineered to work together with the plugs that come standard, Im not sure if the Pulse Plugs would end up doing more harm than good.

    I agree... I think they would run Too Hot (Thats why Toyota went back to the copper over the iridium plugs.) at least thats was what i was told by the toyota service tech.

    I think they would run hotter than the iridums thus causing pinging and other problems with the ECU trying to match the hot plug.. possible sending more fuel making it run to rich if the plug can't keep up... or running to lean if it send the normal amount of fuel.

    FWIW, I have found that most of the "Techs" are idiots. Iridium and Platinum plugs are "colder" than the copper plugs. :)
