I plan on parking and not wheeling. No 2wd would definitely cut out a few of us.

I'm sure 2wd will be ok. Every time I've been there they don't check your drivetrain plus it's not like you'll be running the park by yourself. There'll be plenty of help getting out of sticky situations with the amount of people signed up for this.

Also, please put me down as a "maybe". March is a few months out but I've got a few things on the calendar that may conflict. If I can't make it for the entire weekend, I'll try to get up there for a day trip. Since I've joined the Tacoma ranks, I look forward to meeting some of you "locals".

EDIT: What's the general consensus on inviting some FJ Cruisers? There's an FJ group from Georgia I've wheeled Gulches with when I had my FJ...they may be interested. I won't send out an invite without the green light first though.

The rangers at Gulches won't even question your truck! The one caveat is that I've never been there with a group this size and it's been a couple years for me (new family addition and all) so no idea how they are currently.

From what I've been able to scan in this thread, there's a few that have been recently so they may be able to chime in here. I doubt much has changed...

    BTW, I dig the green!

Question for those that have been there. This place doesn't look to be that big, Gulches ~80 acres vs. Rausch Creek ~3000 acres.

    Is it worth the drive?

Trail map looks good, just trying to get an overall feel of this place before the 8 hr haul.

@Acerwin @01Tac0ma Or anyone that has wheeled at this park.

I would say yes, it's worth the drive. If I can't do the whole weekend, I'll make the 6 hour round trip for the day.

There's a whole lot packed into that 80 acres. The only place there really isn't anything to drive over or around is the parking lot and the bottom of one of the hills that meet with trail 2 (at least I think it's trail 2).

I had a bunch of pictures from the last time I was there...I'll see if I can dig them out.

It's not big but has some pretty good trails from what I've seen online.

It is very small compared to other parks, but it is packed with some fun trails. I can't say wether or not it is worth an 8 hour drive, it's up to you. If you want to meet new people and wheel fun trails with other toyotas, then I would say yes.

I can be put down as a maybe for Saturday. I will know for sure when it gets closer.
