Not offended. I don't care, and not sure what Californian has to do with anything?

I've only fired an XD a few times. They're probably fine handguns. I got started with Glock; models 19 and 22 specifically. I've got holsters, and plenty of magazines for them, but more importantly none of my Glocks have given me any trouble. So I've never had a reason to consider XD's. However, I'm sure there's just as many satisfied XD owners out there. I guess if I didn't own either one then I would shoot both, and buy from the brand that I shot the best.

Surprisingly the Glock 42 I was using at an event the other day kept acting up. Kept stovepiping and wedging the casing up just in front of the chamber. Was a PITA to keep dealing with it because it wouldn't just fall out and it wouldn't let me bring the slide back enough to lock it so I really needed a third hand haha. Not sure if it didn't like the ammo or if everybody and their mother was limp wristing.

I still want my Sig 226 MK25...I just can't stop spending money on my truck lol

The only issues I've ever seen from my Glock 42 was when I was letting others shoot it...same issues as you described

I suspect limp wristing too...I've never had a failure when I'm shooting it

Yeah that's what I'm thinking. But I swear no matter how many times you tell people to stop limp wristing they still do it. lol

The G18 is a version of a G17...but if they call it the other way, all 9mm and likely other double stack glocks will be banned lol...

Precisely what I was thinking, also a picatany rail could be used to mount a VFG which would be illegal per the text (if I read correctly), which would mean no spot to attach lights.

One of the few gripes I have heard on the gen4 glocks is that it is easier to limp wrist them. An instructor at the local range told me he had noticed it but not sure how true it is.

I love my 226 :) Dont have the MK25 but if you do get the mk25....i HIGHLY recommend switching out the trigger to the SRT kit from Sig.

I had narrowed down my first handgun purchase between these exact two! After feeling both at the shop and playing with the action, grip, etc... I went with the Glock. Not a big fan of the grip safety. Maybe down the road I'll pick up a XD, but the Glock just felt better. Personal preference will be the main thing. Good luck!

You made a good choice and all i can say is practice with the gun until you reach a level of confidence that you are comfortable with.I'm sure it's going to take some time to get familiar with the point of aim and impact of this gun as it did myself. But I doubt you will be disappointed.

Warning though this could be the start of an addiction....

Went shooting for the third time yesterday with a friend and have already improved dramatically. Much tighter shooting already. Little to the left, but I'll take the tighter bunch!

Awesome!! You will improve each and every time you shoot, that gun is capable of very respectable 2-3 inch groups @ 20 yards
