Ok, I know that the new Tacos try to "adapt" their shifting points to our driving habits and road conditions, but I need a little more infos. I recently drove with my boat in tow (about 1000 pounds including trailer) and of course the truck was keeping more into the high revs. The next day I drove a long highway ride, and it seemed to me that for the first 100 miles or so shifting points were "weird" and I could not get the revs to stay arond the 1600rpms as they usually do. It was like the truck was keeping power in reserve for the trailer, staying around 2000rpms. After that time though, everything went back to normal, all while I was still cruising the highway.
What gives? is that a normal thing?

Maybe did you have ECT on while you towed the boat and it was off the next day you drove on the highway? Not sure, what that would be...did you wait the recommended amount of miles before towing? Im not sure what it is, i think like 500-1000 miles..should be in owners manual. Could it be maybe you were in shift mode on one day and in drive the next day? All i know is ECT on = high rpms. ECT off = low rpms (probably around 1000-1500 rpms)

yes, this ECT Power button is just like the Tow/Haul mode button I used to have on my Silverado...I love it. works like a charm...I can really tell a difference. you can take off from stop signs quicker too :)

I got 3000 miles on it, that is not the issue.
I did not use the ECT (although maybe I should have) so that is not the case either. And the ECT resets when you turn the engine off so I'm really sure it's not the case.
The only thing I can think of is that the tires I have on are 265 70 R17 and not 265 65 R17. But with such a small difference, it means the truck is really finicky. And I still don't understand why it corrected itself.
Does anybody played with the computer settings before?

It's not the tires. I have 265/70/17's and according to the GPS, I am exactly ONE mph over the speedo.

Well, it did not happen again. I'll just rule this as a freak incident for now.
