Maybe you should consider post #14 and reflect on #21 & #22.

Did you have a hard time accepting use of a microwave oven too? Somewhere around the mid 70's ? :D

Sorry man. You are tilting at windmills. Folks will never be convinced that they should not continue to do what they have done for the last 40 years despite changes in technology or the opinions of real experts.

Got it now. Sorry, I can be slow.

I didn't know squat about oil. Spend a few hours over at BITOG, and it's great what you can learn about oil and how it works inside the engine.

Not in my 2015. I verified this last week when I got my oil changed for the first time. The technician said they use conventional oil in the Tacomas.

I am in my late 20s. I didnt want to sound like a "know it all" kid, compared to you guys. I Have seen when oil wasnt changed for 15k+ miles, and it came out lumpy. I just want to avoid that with my vehicles.

I will reconsider though, after reading through the past few pages.

Its been said but oil is cheap and easy to install and engines seem to run better on clean oil and fresh filters.

this thread screwed me up enough to know I am f-ing NEVER changing my oil cause that shit is so good I will just drain it then re-use every 2-18 thousand miles but will in fact replace the filter with a new brand every damn time just in case.

Have you had a lab test the oil, either at filter change intervals or at the full OCI?

If not, you don't really know how it's holding up. All you know is you haven't had an internal failure. And if you do have an oil related failure, you'll not have any documentation to support your claim with Amsoil. What do you answer when they say 'prove it'?

I know you are a dealer. And that I have no need for boutique oils. It's just that the same scientific analysis needs to be applied. Just because they run big ads in car magazines and sponsor motorsport events doesn't make it true.

BUCKLE UP! It makes it harder for Aliens to pull you out of your Truck.
Shit. I thought it was 75,000-100,000 mile oil change intervals back in 1984 still got over 300k and didn't make a shit of a difference and ran fine (again, not proud of it, though)

Many thanks to those that change their oil at less than 7500 mile intervals. The energy/oil industry and Texas are highly appreciative of the extra corporate revenue and state oil tax that you are generating. You keep people employed and eliminate the need for a state income tax. Keep it up!

Good point. Forget what I said above. I call do overs. Please change your oil every 1000 miles. More is always better.

I save resources by using maple syrup instead. Kinda like a 10w-30, right?

Yea, but antifreeze is the only automotive fluid that should taste sweet.

You're at risk of screwing up proper leak diagnois.

I tried that but my truck would try to turn each time I passed an IHOP.
