Is there any cheap way to do so? Do different exhaust tips produce different sounds?

Go to Meijer or autozone and get a cherry bomb and 2 muffler clamps. Cut the exhaust off as long as the cherry bomb and install it.

That used to be the cheap and easy 20 years ago. I would imagine that it still is.

    Good luck.

no you can get a muffler installed for around 80 to 100 bucks that will make it have a ok sound

Different brands will produce different sounds go to youtube and type in your truck and magna flow, flowpro, flowmaster and ect. Dumping it a the axle will make it louder but I would say most people run it all the way out. Just depends what you want.

If you want a nice deep rumble get a header (LCE) and flowmaster. (NOT CHEAP!!!!) If you want performance go with a dynomax super turbo. BTW DO NOT!!!!!!!!!! remove the cat trying to make it loud!! It makes me want to hurt someone when they cut the cat off and run no muffler. You only make a "GOOD" sounding truck sound like a pissed off HONDA IMHO!!:mad:

I would have to wash the engine first! lol I actually had to take the flowmaster off because the whine is way more fun than the rumble. ( I also broke the flow inside a weld let loose).

What is the installation like for a cat back system? Is it easy enough for me to do by myself or with another person? Roughly how much will it cost?
