    Hello everyone.

I have a 2014 DCLB with the 4.0 supercharger and the upgraded TRD exhaust. 11,000 miles
3 inch lift kit with larger upgraded wheels n tires. Near perfect condition. Does the value of my rig go up having the supercharger now that ts discontinued? If so, what's she worth if I sell? Private party and trade in if you could.

    Thank you!

I looked at the pictures and something strange caught my eye in every picture that the steering wheel is shown. Specifically on the air bag cover. There is a definite crease in 1" from the right and it is also on the left in the same location. I have no idea if that's a sign of air bag deployment but it looks suspicious and different.

This is extremely subjective. KBB doesn't have an option for the SC on their 'options' list, so you're not going to see a KBB increase in value. Strictly speaking, a SC doesn't increase the value of the truck at all. Personally, I steer clear of trucks that are SC'ed, unless I know the guy / girl and knew that they took care of it.

HOWEVER, a truck is worth what someone will pay for it. You may be able to find someone willing to pay over KBB to have that SC on it already - I wouldn't doubt it at all. But if you're looking for a concrete increased value for the SC, I'm afraid you're not going to find it.

    Private - Whatever someone pays.

Trade In - Whatever dealer will pay.

Lift, wheels and tires are worth more selling as take offs than to another buyer, unless they're foolish.

Your stock truck with exhaust and TRD SC is worth not much more than KBB/NADA/etc,. TRD is discontinued, but that doesn't make it rare. Market for forced induction used cars isn't exactly hotter than stock vehicle market.

Anyhoo.. you don't have a diamond. It's not worth more to 95% of potential buyers because of your lift/tires/wheels/SC/exhaust.

Well...let's just say that I'm *still* not the proud owner of a Tacoma! This thing was sorta, how shall we put it, "well used" on the interior. But the mudding mods and supercharger were perfectly fine. It looks good on the outside, but the PO just wasn't very clean with his additions to the interior, and that's why I didn't like the price tag the dealership refused to go down on. They stood firm on their sticker price even though I called BS on their claim that it was a $12,000 s/c. Furthermore, the swaybar had been removed and it handled on the road a little looser than I would have liked (we're wanting a daily driver...). Lastly, we had a problem with the amount of smoking (of cigs) going on among all the salesmen when we arrived (and during our entire visit there...). My three year old doesn't need to be around that! And while my wife and daughter chilled out in our car I went on a test drive with our salesman and he hopped in the passenger seat with a freshly lit cig. Honestly?! I know some people may not mind it but with two young kids under four years old, we just don't tolerate it, especially with a car we're considering buying. I told him to immediately put it out.

Anyway, long story longer, they would only agree to give me $1000 more than what I wanted for my trade in, and while that's nice and all, that just didn't get it low enough to make that truck worth it.

Hopefully this truck lands in worthy hands because it's a fun truck with great mods and well maintained, but I wish they would have negotiated a bit more with me. Also, the smoking. If they do that during a test drive, what does that tell me about what they may do behind the public eye...just my .02.

No doubt, man! After the experience and seeing it, I knew it probably wasn't for us. Plus, I didn't need all that stuff, per se, like the bumpers, fog lamps (which were SWEET!!), winch, or supercharger. And I'm kinda looking forward to doing any and all mods myself. I think it'll be more fulfilling...

That sounds like a horrible experience and seems like they just didn't care. When it comes to customer service, not to mention a potential buyer, I guess common sense ain't all that common.
The smoking part while in your potential truck is what irks me. The smell can be hard to get out of an interior.

Oh yeah, no doubt. I've been looking. I'll just sell my current car to CarMax if I get one off here though...not much room for down payment aside from my potential trade-in...

Yeah, it was certainly unexpected and off-putting. It was less than ideal. In fairness, everyone there was really nice, but could have maybe been more accommodating...

Before I started my Land Cruiser build I was seriously considering a 4Dr Taco but everything I found with decent miles was close to $30,000. I just couldn't see paying that for a used truck when you can add a few thousand to it and buy a new one. The mods are nice but then you have to ask yourself how much of that you really will use. I've had 4 FZJ80's with factory front and rear lockers and I can count on one hand how many times I needed lockers. Good luck on your search, you'll find one and you'll be happy you didn't get in a hurry

Oh yeah, they absolutely were. It was a beautiful truck, but the dash condition left a little to be desired (looked like some sort of epoxy or adhesive in certain places; I dunno) and there were some holes drilled out of the console that were just left there and there was even a mini microphone hanging out of the driver's side door trim. Ha!

And I understand I'm being kind of "picky" with the condition of the truck but it is a 2010 (and has definitely seen its fair share of trails...), and every time our salesman lit up a cigarette in front of us (and the three year old!) my asking price kept going down...

The old owner probably had some sort of scangauge or ultragauge mounted on the dash. That would explain the residue. Possibly a CB radio too which would explain the drill holes. Not sure about the dash but you could definitely get a new console from a salvaged truck for a decent price.

This is true, no doubt. I think after he hopped in with the lit cig, our hearts just sort of weren't in it...

That's incredible. Smoking with a child in the car is illegal in many states.

That's a no-go for me from the start.

No worries, brother. There's tons of other Tacos out there. Let's keep this thread alive, and let us know what you're considering!
