I love it. Really wakes up the SC
My only concern now is I have an idea that I want a snorkel an I'm not sure how it would work with the AFE.
Other than that I have 0 complaints

Welcome to my world. I'm still in R&D phase of trying to make a Y pipe to run both snorkel and CAI and be able to switch between them for water crossing at the flick of a switch. Think exhaust cut out style, only for your intake.

Haha it'll probably be a one off unless my fab guys wants to do multiple runs. Problem for me is all the smog shit in the way. Trying to figure out a design that will work around that stuff

I was just thinking about this yesterday.. Lol

A snorkel is in the future plans as well. Where does the snorkel draw from? The stock fender location?

Most of them do. It enters your fender and then another pipe runs inside the fender to your stock inlet location. The Airaid snorkel has you cut another hole in your body like a foot back from your stock hole. What I'm thinking is a whole new pipe from throttle body to CAI box that splits AFTER the maf (coming from throttle body) and one goes to CAI box and one goes out of the fender and continues up like a snorkel. Probably all 3" aluminum, with an ARB snorkel head on top. I'm thinking the Y will be an exhaust cut out, with the cut out side being the CAI box. Problem there is now I need to figure out how to put an inline filter on the snorkel. Since the snorkel will be effectively on at all all times, it needs a filter

Why go through all the work? I was just thinking of doing piping from the snorkel to the AFE.

Chaz from Tucson said the s/c has issues with a snorkel, might want to check out what he discovered

EDIT: I see @sytfu510 has a s/c and a snorkel maybe he can chime in

Yea I've read multiple things about that, some say no issues, some day they do. Thats why I'm gonna with 3" piping the whole way. Plus, the cutout will be on the CAI side and the only time I'm gonna use it is if I'm worried about sucking water into it, which means i wont be going in to boost, like water crossings and such. I thought about just cutting a hole in the CAI running it through that and just capping the inner fender for water crossings, but I've heard the CAI box will start collapsing from the suction lol

So your saying to want to cut a hole after the actual box housing the filter to tap into when doing a water crossing?

How else could you stop water from gettin in the box without caping the whole in the fender.

I could see some performance losses with the snorkel but I wonder how significant it is an it's it's (bad) for the motor/blower. It can't be much worse than the maze of the stock airbox.

Quick question guys what is the biggest shock I can fit in the rear stock location? Are you able to fit a 2.5x8 bypass?

No, current thought is to leave the lower hole in AFe box open as a drain hole for water, the cutout would be on the Y pipe heading to the AFE box, so I hit the switch befofe crossing water, it closes off the line going to the AFE CAI box completely, I am then strictly on snorkel at that point, so I try to stay out of boost (although with 3" piping i think ill be fine) and then once out of water I hit the switch to open the CAI side again. So i'll be pulling from Snorkel and CAI at all times unless i shut off the CAI. I dont plan on submerging the truck ever, so i'm not super worried about flooding out the CAI box. With the line shut off and no suction in the box I dont expect much water to soak in to the filter or get through it since the lower hole will be draining.

Gotcha! The switch idea would be cool. And hell of a lot faster then having to get out an do it by hand.
I'm interested to see if you get this going an see how it works an changes the airflow to the SC
