Anyone wanna snap a pic of their door jam sticker on a TRD off road manual transmission? Finding some info out there that they are not putting the advertised 4.30:1 ratio in some of these trucks but instead substituting the B06A in them (3.90:1/2 pinion carrier).

On a side note... I am NOT going to be very happy if my truck comes in with a 8" 3.9:1 axle assembly when all literature says it should be the 8.75" 4.30:1 rear axle.

    B07A??? Maybe??

I thought only the manual transmissions came with the 4.30?

The 4.30:1 ratio being exclusive to the manual was my thoughts as well from all the literature I have seen. I have a manual transmission TRD OR on order and seriously considering not taking delivery if the gear ratio is not as advertised. The 3.9:1 combined with the ratios of the new RC62F I fear would be a gutless wonder.

Straight from the horse's mouth 4.30:1 on all manual models accept the 4cyl AC SR.

Two examples of TRD DCSB 6MT with the 3.9:1 axle code.

Seems to be a trend with the Texas built trucks. Seems like a case of misprinted labels or some faults advertising...

It certainly seems to be the 4.30 based on speed in gears and acceleration. I've got 5000 miles on it, all but one trip have been in the mountains here with heavy use tranny for decel and passing. I pass contractor's full-size pickups daily on the steep parts of the passes and the gearing in 4th and 5th works really well for this terrain. Top gear 2500 rpm is about 70mph with 265/65/17 stock tires.

Sure hope this is just a case of misprinted labels.

I posted this link in the M/T thread already:

    http://www.off-road.com/trucks-4x4/tech/toyota-differential-identification-18588.html

Note the disclaimer after the second decided chart. You'll find this same disclaimer with most Toyota axle decoders because they are notorious for not really adhering to their own nomenclature and any gear shop worth their salt will back this up. I'll try and make time to do a rollout later today to put the issue to rest, but I'm quite certain of the 4.30 ratio without doing it in spite of the B06A labeling based on rev and speed matching alone.

You have an automatic. I guess it show there is a difference in axle code though...

No, it's not. It is a bunch of fuss over nothing:

EDIT: This is my door tag from the M/T BS thread:

I'm just saying...it would be nice to know that Toyota is installing the parts they are supposed to and labeling the door panel accordingly.

I have a MT Access cab coming, TRD-Sport and would really like to know what rear end and ratio I'm getting. I specifically want the 4:30's...There is a big difference between 4:30 and 3:91's...my question, if they are switching these out, how are they handling the speedometer issue ??

I might be missing something here, as you say it's not a big deal, but I want to know what I'm getting before it's in my garage...I plan on installing larger tires and the difference between to the 2 gear ratio's can make a big difference.

What I'm saying is that Toyota isn't still using the same axle codes from the mid-90s. B06A clearly doesn't mean the same thing it did on a '94 pickup. Toyota is known for switching around axle codes and much like this thread people freak out thinking they are getting something other than they are because of an axle decoder that is two generations out of date. The "no dig deal" is the freak out over a possible issue that isn't, 4.30 gears are going in the V6 M/T trucks. A lot of freaking out about an issue that isn't. Please see video posted above.

Exactly, this thread is much to do about nothing. My truck runs 60 mph at 2000 rpm, which is proof enough that it has a 4.30 rear end and the correct gear ratios.
Don't get flummoxed by the door sticker.
