Bummed that you couldn't work a deal but it seems like it isn't exactly what you wanted and the salesmen seemed unprofessional. Plenty of rigs out there that will meet your needs without the salesmen firing up a heat rod.

Thanks man! And technically he wasn't smoking in the car with her since she didn't go on the test drive with us, but...

A smoking ban in cars with children exists in Arkansas (<14), California (<18), Louisiana (<13), Maine (<16), Oregon (<18), Puerto Rico (<13), Utah (<15), and Vermont (<8). (age of child varies by state).

It is banned in certain counties and cities of Hawaii, Indiana, Kansas, New Jersey, New York and Alabama.

That's from the Wikimonster - https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Smoking_bans_in_private_vehicles - that's the only place I could find them all listed in one place. It's constantly changing, though. I was stationed in Cali and Hawaii for a while, and I remember these laws coming about.

    Right on,..
That would really over torque my head bolts as well.
I was a smoker, after I quit it took months to clean that crap off the inside of the windshield.

The hair on the back of your neck feeling after a more detailed inspection of the interior probably saved you a crapton of aggravation. Sure it can be fixed and maybe a buy of the year with all the other options, but what kind of electrical gremlins could be hiding in there?

Thanks. Never had heard of this. Not a smoker here, so it doesn't directly affect me. Or my grands, since their parents are also smoke free.

Fl is a clean air state, meaning no smoking in most indoor public spaces, and even some outdoor. Which I've been very happy for.

But the laws cited seem a bit odd. What about these same kids at home? Adults can't smoke in the house either? I mean if they can, the car is sort of a waste of a law isn't it?

Take the same approach as buying houses.., look at a bunch before you go falling in love with the "one you really had to have." You won't miss that blower when gas goes back up to 3.50 and you are paying for premium and have to keep your foot light on that throttle..

As previously mentioned, buy a stocker and add the upgrades you want.., that way you know what was done and get to enjoy the upgrades and mod's as they are done.

Lots of great Intel avail now, so pricing a rig is a lot easier than it used to be.

Hilarious the sales hack started chewing on a heater..., now that is top shelf....

Good luck, and let's see the pic's when you find the right one.

You should consider a 4Runner for your family needs.

Thought about it, but I already have a mid-size SUV that seats just as many as a 4Runner. I need a truck to haul stuff and what not...

They might call you tomorrow or the 31st. The deal that did not make sense then will make sense now. They have to meet their quota. I had dealers call me few days before the end of the month.

    5100's all around. Front's set at 1.75" 265/75/16 Duratracs.
I see you are in Morristown. I have looked at a couple of cars from there and both have been wrecked before and Lakeway has a reputation of selling wrecked cars and it never showing up on car fax. I looked at a 2013 civic that the owners "friend" had traded in. You could see the crappy bodywork down the side where it had been wrecked but didn't show up on car fax. I would be weary of anything coming from that dealership.
