What Have You Done To Your 3rd Gen Today?

Well, since I put aftermarket alloy 16" wheels that offer no difference in ride quality and look better (see above opinion argument), I must have just posted in the middle of a discussion about bro-dozers or something. ;-)

 

What is your definition of a quality wheel? Can you direct me to some examples?

I love FN wheels for a few reasons:

1) Extremely lightweight (improves acceleration, mpgs, braking, etc)
2) Excellent designs
3) The best customer service anyone could ask for from any company. I was blown away by how often people on this forum praised Dustin (the owner/operator) for his amazing sense of customer service. When the time came for me to call and place my order, Dustin spent nearly 40mins explaining the changes in the SixShooter model that'll launch next month. He literally talked himself out of a deal, temporarily. He was so friendly and helpful that I called back 2 wks later and threw my money at him.

I just bought the sixshooter 17"... weighing in at a shocking 20.5lbs and with stronger tolerances than stock. For comparison sake, the stock 16" wheel is 32lbs and the 17" TRD wheel is 27lbs. One pound of rotational weight is equal to 4-6+ pounds of weight inside the cabin (engineers seem to scatter their estimates).

 

Thank you for the information. So obviously I know that My OEM rim is a 17" but do you by chance know what the OEM offset and backspacing are?

All of FN's wheels are designed specifically for modern Toyotas. Any of his options will fit the 3rd Gen Taco for sure. I wouldn't worry about those stats unless you're fitting much much bigger tires.

 

I installed the Undercover SE today. It is completely rainproof and it is easy to remove when I need to use the full bed.
