I'm looking at getting a set of 255/85/16 around August. Around then, my Falken 265/70/18s will be about done and I will be happy to get away from my Akuza wheels.

I'm very pleased with these 255/85/16's after about 500 miles. These are quiet tires, even at 75-80 on the highway. The handling is superb.IMG_0565.jpg

Decided to make a little more room for them. Think it turned out pretty good.

Took the truck back to discount to rotate the right side to try and figure out the aggressive pull. Rotating the right side (front to back) didn't help at all. Taking it back this afternoon to try the left side. If that doesn't work, I'm going to have to explore other options, meaning either Maxx's in 255/80r17 or possibly duratracs or something else. I really love the Maxx's so I hope it doesn't come to the last option...

After rotating the left side front to back, the right hand pull is still present. I called discount this morning and asked them to get a set of duratracs on the way. The right pull is driving me crazy. It sucks because I love these tires. Did a little offroading with them Saturday and they performed great. But I am not offroad enough to justify that pull. I have had duratracs before and have been very happy with them so it's back to old faithful for me.

After adding my 255/80/17 I've gotten about 1.5mpg loss going from ht's 265/70/17. Oh well, you have to pay to play

Take 4% of the miles you get out of a tank and add that to the miles you got out of a tank! If that makes sense!

Take the mileage you got over the course of the tank, add 4% to it, and then divide by the number of gallons used

Just take your miles and times is by .04 or 4%. So every 100 miles add 4. The speedo will be off at 56 mph you will at 60 mph. The maxx is a little shorter than most 255/80/17's. My old cooper ST's were 33" the ST Maxx is 32.6" or so. I had 265/70/16 stock. I used my gps to see the speedo dif. The tire calculator is less than my gps.

My boss FINALLY let me order, "whatever tires you want" at work for our fleet. The choice was obvious.

I can tell you I have a set of 285/75 16 DuraTracs on my 06 DCSB and I am LESS than impressed with their snow performance. Actually, I don't care much for them at all. I had a set of 265/75 ST Maxx on before these and I much prefer those tires to the DuraTracs. I got 60k plus out of the Maxx, would have been more if I hadn't of driven for about a year with the front end out of alignment lol. I never felt as sketched with the Maxx as I have with the DuraTracs. I don't like the 2 ply sidewall either, I'm constantly out in the desert and I have to be way more careful with these than I ever did with the Maxx. I'm going to play with air pressures to see if that helps any but I'm most likely gonna throw these up for sale and go back to the ST Maxx, a tire I know I can trust.

Love my ST Maxx. Finally got to use them in some nasty winter weather and they have performed great. If I ever get a dedicated winter tire set, these things with studs in them would be great.

Jeff, do you get any of the right hand pull i read about? I am hoping its a very sparse / random thing. Love these tires, look great on your truck. I want me some. 265/75/16 correct?

Good deal? What hidden charges, cost to get mounted, any tpms rebuild bs, will a shop that doesnt sell the tire to you, offer lifetime balance if they only mount them.
