And like I wrote earlier, GM may be selling a piss load of Diesel orders but very few have hit the road. GM is holding them in the factory lot for revaluation of the tune of something like that.

Hmmm, maybe they let someone from VW's diesel department do the tuning ;)

In now way was this 63k ram inferior to the taco. The options, interior, power, transmission, towing, all superior, but I would still love a taco for my line of work (forestry)
I have had good luck with my 2012 ram, only a couple very minor warranty items.

Ford,gm and ram/FCA all offer 0% plus discounts. Waiting for the right deal on a taco, that's the Beauty of having a good truck currently, no need to rush

In Canada the number one selling vehicle is Ford f series, followed by ram trucks. 3rd is a Honda Civic.
Ram has come a long way in the last 4 years or so. I would have never bought one years ago, but times have changed!

I'm curious to see what the pricing will be for the tacoma TRD PRO for 2017. It would be nice if they actually offered a functional hood scoop or some kind of supercharger...both of which I doubt is going to happen. When I build a tacoma trd off road price is anywhere between 35-40k...for about 42k I could have a tundra TRD PRO.

I won't get into it for the umpteenth time, but my experience with Ram is horrendous and involves Rams built in the last few years. There is a reason they are a few k, at least, cheaper off the lot at negotiated price than a Ford or GM truck. Ram sales are up because they are literally dirt cheap for fleet use. Literally thousands less per truck. The problem is that their reliability just isn't there. Anyway, Ford didn't zero percent the F150 this year until the last few months of the 2015 year. I do agree that the high Toyota rate is temporary and will fall to their usual 2-3 percent rates sometime next year.

Probably because you'll need a new front end in a month or two on a TRX or off-road Ram if you take it on the logging trails :). The tundra fuel economy is the shits too :(.

Your one case doesn't mean they are all crap trucks.

I have a co worker with a tundra that has had the engine, tranny, rear diff, front diff and cv's all replaced in 5 years. Do I think all tundras are crap? No I am more mature than that.

I can only go by my own experience as well as a handful of friends with 2011+ rams, they are not flawless, but no truck is.

After 12% added tax and $3K for ECP mine was $52K here in BC. I figure I am about $3K over what I should have paid but "she who is to be obeyed insisted we buy local".

    Truck has been excellent.

My 1998 Tacoma needed all new front end parts every year back when it was only 4-5 years old. Ball joints, tie rod ends, etc. the tranny would overheat on a day like today with 2' of snow and in 4wd working hard, Did I think the truck was crap? No Toyota Canada gave me $21,900 for that rotted frame old girl. Still loved that truck for my line of work. I am a forester and my ram rides very nice on logging roads. No parts failed yet. (2012 model)

Anywho I still want a taco, just don't feed me bs on my ram being inferior, they all break Toyota is no different.

I used to do local operations work for Agrium retail. It wasn't just my one Ram that was crapping out. Let's leave it at that.

That's too bad, I see a lot of taco frames sitting at my dealer, that's no minor issue, do I judge them all as crap? No, like I said they all have issues, and a company truck? Lol they get driven the easiest!

I work for the province (state) and we have all makes and models of trucks, they all have problems, and they all get driven hard....

    None needed.
I reeeally respect your brilliance and insightful knowledge regarding all things related to the venerable Tacoma. Tell me, besides the occasional rusty frame, what other peeves do you have for the longest lasting, most reliable, highest resale value truck of our time? Did you immediately rid yourself of that blight on society after the frame was made whole?
... or do you continue to drive, with great pride, knowing the only knock on the truck has been repaired free of charge? Or, is there more to the story! Oh please, do tell; there must be more.

well I was going to order a new Chev Colorado diesel. Had it priced and ready. Delivery date estimated end of feb. I love diesel engines and torque and fuel mpg. plus towing even though I only tow less than 5k it gets great mpg doing it and keeps holds speed with torque. Love the ram 3.0 and my wife has a vw toureg with the 3.0 and love it. That said the Colorado was sticker for $42500 loaded with crew 4x4 and z71 and upgraded everything. No leather didn't want it. Out the door price 39k. I was close but everytime I test drove the gas model the interior I just could not handle nor the exterior looks. it is so much skin but interior was big deal to me. It was better seats as far as comfort and rode smoother and had 8 way electric seats. Again interior and even exterior. I then looked at Toyota and I am not a only Toyota person but did have 15 tundra wanted mid size but I have had then all. The seats were not as comfy and no up and down but the interior to the Tacoma like the tundra was simple and just good looking without millions of plastic buttons and such. material on doors and dash and everything seemed to be much padded or not such straight plastic. The exterior looks great and the ride is good for what the Tacoma used to be. It is smaller back seat (no issue for me if I needed bigger id kept tundra). Sticker was 38200 and I paid $36800. I know others did about $1k better than I did on same sticker but really they gave me $1000 more trade than others including Chev place so really paid $35800 to be fair. So $35800 gas Tacoma or $39k Diesel Chev. I put 30k a year on so diesel would of been a wash over time cost wise so I said love the Toyota and the offroad. I wish Tacoma had a diesel option id of done that but rather have gas Tacoma than the Colorado and I love the diesel in the Colorado!! Just couldn't get by the interior/Exterior on it. As far as crap shoot on engine in this Tacoma I think it will be very reliable. Havent ever had problem in Toyota/Lexus . have an 04 gx460 since 03 and it is great still and I aint getting rid of it. it has 86k on it and I love that thing too. It was wifes till last dec when she got the new toureg diesel. But I want giving the gx up. To each his own. Gm will sell many of them and I am sure keep demand up high for a while. Id bought one no problem but Tacoma to me is what I prefer interior and exterior looks and off road

It's hard not to bag on one brand when they are always in the shop while our other trucks are on the road ;). What's scary is that Agrium is now going to all Dodge just because of the cost savings. They will all be 3 year leases now so who cares if they have 5-15 percent of them in the shop at one time. I'm sure in a year or two they will go back to another all brand policy. At least my new company is all Ford. Anyways we are way off topic. My point was that comparing a company that builds in 15k of discount past MSRP into their pricing to a company that is always within a few k of their MSRP is not really a fair comparison. If people just cared about that only everyone would just drive Fiat products.

Ford/gm/ram/Toyota all can be found in the service bays at our provincial mechanic garage. our minivans are never in the shop, should convert to them I suppose.

my 1998 was no stranger to the mechanic's.

Thanks for your opinion again brah. The maturity is showing ;). Honestly, let's just bring this back on point. Your opinions aren't going to change my experience and I respect that you feel the same way.

Im just glad they are all getting better and keeping the others to keep getting better too. Also glad we all have different likes and dislikes or we would all be driving the same thing doing the same thing. What a boring world that would be

On the diesels...those have not reached any owners yet...

In my case, I had an initial production week of 11/30 and now got pushed to 2/15/2016.... So that means a delivery date of around March/April...

I will stop by the dealer next week to cancel... My wife got tired of waiting as well and she bought another FIAT (500c 1957 Edition)... So now I get to keep the X5 and rent trailers when I need to carry stuff...

With some of the reports here, makes sense to wait. As much as I also like the Tacoma, I do not want to suffer some of the first year issues with a Tacoma either... So I will milk the X5 for as long as I can and then see what is available when it is my time to get a new vehicle.
