I'd guess 5-6k damage. Mine was only the rear door, bed, cab, and bumper but was a bit worse on the bed side. 5.5k

Honestly, rock sliders might transfer more energy to the rails and you could end up with damage there. It would depend on impact speed, but it would definitely be a concern of mine (am crash safety engineer at Ford) in side impact. All of the bumpers (crush cans) and other panels are designed to crumple and absorb energy. Since the rails weren't designed for this type of loading in an accident it could be an issue, but that's just an educated guess, would require some simulations and verification testing to be sure ;). Rails are made out of pretty thick steel though, so they might hold up better than expected in a low speed accident like this. Totally a possibility that the speed at which it becomes a problem there is enough overall damage to other parts of the vehicle that it's a moot point. If you're a serious off roader you should still get rock sliders because you're a lot more likely to be damaging your rocker panels from your normal activities off-roading than the possibility of a side impact accident damaging the rails. One of those trade offs of modifying a truck :)

Gee willickers that sucks. I hate parking lots, much to the wifes dismay I park only where there are no cars, usually the very back of the lot AND protected by a curb or something solid, a little walking never hurt nobody. Hope it all works out for you. Could be worse, here in AZ 20 percent of drivers don't carry insurance so you better have uninsured or underinsured motorist on your own policy. If you can't afford insurance, stay OFF the road you jackarses.

BUCKLE UP! It makes it harder for Aliens to pull you out of your Truck.
Sorry, op. THREAD JACK. I'll buy the damaged door shell from you if they decide a new door is warranted (but probably not) I have no shame either, I suppose.

I had a similar type of damage on a 2nd gen Tacoma. The body shop did a decent job fixing it, and nobody other than me could tell the truck was ever damaged. The part they didn't get 100% right was that textured paint at the bottom. When you get it fixed, ask the body shop if they have experience dealing with paint like that.

Damn, that was a good estimate. Repairs came in at about $6,500.
