Can anyone recommend an OBD II reader for check engine codes?
Tired of getting hosed by the stealer, and wasn't aware AutoZone
    does it for free.

+1 for ScanGauge! If you follow the setup procedures for the gas tank fillups it can be very accurate in keeping up with gasoline mileage and cost. Not to mention the added "gauge" feature which works well. And it reads the codes just fine and you can clear them too. A very useful tool.:)

    Just enough, and never enough
+1 SGII scangauge, just make sure to take the time to put in all the values or you end up with a weird reading like mine every time you fill up...

they get 20 the buy goes in. They are currently on group buy #16 and

this is really going to help.
my 06 Tacoma has 25k mile and the check engine light
    came on.
They said if it's not a warranty
item it would be $90 just to find the code.
Turned out to be a faulty gas cap - warranty covered it.(This time)
But,,, I just bought the wife a new Corolla - luv it! and I
can use the ScanGauge II on her car as well.

Nice to know AutoZone will find the code for free tho! thanks!

if you dont want to fork over the money for a scangage....advance auto and auto zone sell those little orange readers for like 40-50 bucks. But all it does is give you the code. THATS IT. nothing else. You have to look it up and figure out what you need to fix, but if you just need the code and are cheap, its a good alternative.

I ordered my scanguage about 2 days ago. They said it should ship the 1st week of July. I also ordered a 2nd cable so I can easily swap the guage between vehicles.
