LED's can be good. I've started switching to them on my truck... not for the look or "brighter" light but because they last a lot longer. Luckily, my truck being a 2015, it has better headlight assemblies that do a better job projecting the light. That said, if you do decide to switch to LED's, you get what you pay for.

I have the OPT7 LED lights and love them, they fit on my 2015 and I will be an advocate for them any day of the week, they are bright as hell! Also you can play the "how many people are going to high beam me today" game. I have a few photos of the light output and can explain the install. They are bright and better than halogen. When you are driving in a lit area, the lights don't show so well on the road, but when you are driving in the dark they light up everything! Best LEDs I have had so far, better than threesixty lighting... PM or quote me if yu have questions.

The license plate bulb socket is removed with about a 1/4 of a turn from underneath the bumper. It is really a tight area if you have a tow pkg, but it can be done. Wear a long sleeve to minimize scrapes to your arms.

Thats so crazy, because mine has been working fine and I have a couple of friends who have been using their stuff for years and they havn't had any issues. But atleast you get a 5 year warranty and they are good with warranty work. They ship out stuff pretty quick.

Only issue I have with that plan is the life of the LEDs would be a benefit AFTER the OEM bulbs go out. I don't see a cost effective savings plan in replacing bulbs that work with longer lasting bulbs.

Lol... very true. I should point out that I'm not doing it for the cost savings necessarily. I'm swapping my headlights out with a set of Spyder Black headlights. Doing the swap is kind of a pain in the ass because I've got a Volant intake with the ram air kit... anytime I change a bulb I have to remove part of the intake. I'm making the switch to LED's to relieve me of the hassle of having to change bulbs more frequently down the road.

Yea, everyone has their upgrades and tries to justify so the wife wont get upset. You have to train em right. Buy a Harley! So now after years of Harleys, the wife thinks its natural to buy a new vehicle and start adding aftermarket crap. Soon as she got her new Sahara she wanted me to put on LED taillights and better headlights...LOL.

Or you can do like I did. Add on the stuff the wife wants... i.e. The leather and predator bars on the truck. She insisted they go on it before we took delivery. I added led interior lights because my daughter uses the lights all the freaking time on trips... So now she can see without blinding me with a flashlight every time she adjusts it.

I'm thinking I will just add brighter Halogens down the road if my wife drives the truck on a long trip and says she can't see well. Seems easier. :yay:
