They don't..least they didn't. Then again I haven't cycled fully with the lt. Waiting to get bumps. I can't run hard enough to worry about it anyways.

I blew up the ring and pinion 3 times in 2 fully trussed and tabbed tundra axles when I first linked my truck. The first one I actually bent the axle tubes. Of course I am runnin the V6 and 35's so it was more stress on the 8" ring gear than you will probably have. Make sure you get your gears set up by someone that knows what they are doing. Looks nice though.

Question for you fab guys. I'm going to run the TG bomb proof motor mounts. Where the block mounts bolt to the TG ones. There is a flat section there that I'm considering running a bead of weld to help with that weak spot. What are your thoughts.

The gears and Detroit Locker are new and setup by 4WP. They have a warranty so hopefully no issues. I am more inclined to stick with my 4cycl just so I don't need a 9".

I probably wouldn't weld the motor mount to that

I have a tundra axle and haven't broken a diff yet.

Yeah I wasn't to sure about that. I know that's where everyone says is the weak point in those mounts. I didn't know if that would help or hurt it.

Please don't do that lol. There are several weak points with the TG "Band-Aid" fix mounts. Honestly I would rather leave the motor mounts stock than run those, at least then the rubber bushing can flex slightly and take away the shock load that would normally be transmitted into the frame and block. It will however fail under heavy offroading.

I define "heavy offroading" as what a Tacoma truck is capable of with a long travel kit up front. If this describes you, and you didn't just buy a LT kit to pull chicks, then you need Poly motor mounts.

The TG mounts are still a bolt in piece that uses the same vertical thru bolt like factory. This creates a bad shear point. Think of it this way...grab a baseball bat on both ends, with both hands and have a buddy try to pull it out of your hand. Now grab it on one end with one hand only, and have him pull on it. It will come out of your hand much easier. Same with the TG setup. It's a single sheared bolt with the load being placed on it in an axial direction just like stock. Except now it has very little "give" due to the solid nature of the mount. Ask @JuansTaco what he went though after he went the cheap route with the TG mounts. It involves pulling the engine and extracting a broken off bolt in the block...

I understand their idea, about replacing the soft rubber bushing which is the main problem but they only went halfway with the design. However it is much cheaper than my "solid" motor mounts so you buy what you can afford and I can respect that. I just know what I have put my truck through with my parts and dozens of others too for years with zero issues! I charge $375 plus shipping for my motor mounts, proven since 2003. Approx. two week turnaround time.

I'm still waiting for you to make a set of your motor mounts for a 2000 Tacoma with 3RZ, 5 speed, 4x4. If you want to take my money make me a set:).

    Ok :D I won't do that!
Im sub'd to your page. I've seen what you have made and point ppl your direction with a link. However at this time I don't have the $$$ to buy your mounts and since the money is already spent on the TG ones I have, I'm going to have to use them. Thanks for taking the time to let me know about what you have to offer. When the time is right you will hear from me.

Yes, I have. Bought a brake kit off rockauto that uses the s13we calipers, no clue about bigger ones though. Plenty of stopping power still even with my tundra drums covered in diff fluid from blown seals.

Haha I would love to take your $$ and build a set of those! I need a stock set of mounts, block to frame perch and I can start the R&D. Do you have access to a set or can your truck be down for a while and I could use yours?(assuming they are in un damaged condition)
