Stall stage has nothing to do with shift points .
Stall stage can be described as the moment the rear wheels begin to turn .
Inside our torque converters in our trucks , we have 4 components and three stages of torque multiplication .
    Here is a little u-tube explanation https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=z5G2zQ_3xTc
    1 - impeller
    2 - turbine
    3 - stator
    4 - lock up clutch

ECT is a sport mode . With ECT off , shift points will be early . With ECT on , shift points are delayed .
    Hope that helps .

I can't speak for the auto ETC. But if you're torn between the auto and the manual drive both, before I bought mine I wanted a manual but I drove the automatic and it was actually pretty good. Its a bit reluctant to downshift sometimes but no big deal, if you drive in traffic a lot the auto is pretty nice. I have a 2nd Gen 5 speed auto and first gear down a steep grade in 4low felt nice and direct with good engine braking.

    I've test driven both.
Problem is in a test drive I can't take them off road so cant judge what will be better. This will be off road and daily so the auto is nicer for the daily.

But after all the poor reviews of the new auto always searching for a gear was a turn off, although I have heard that after you get some milage on it and the transmission 'learns' your driving it is much better.

I liked the manual, but the convenience of the auto would be nicer. I am leaning more towards the auto now after hearing that with it, some are getting 20mpg, and that after it learns your driving its much better, and you can always just turn off the ECT and use it in sport mode.

just an update, when in 4lo, they truck will only do about 2mph going down hill. I couldn't get it on anything steep enough to get to 3mph when gated in first gear in 4lo.

I've only got 800 miles and I'm getting 21 average if you don't count the slow off roading I've done

here is a video. It lists when I go from 4hi to 4lo and back. I had it in second gear and 4lo for some of the parts. Like when I slip into the rut going down I forgot it was in second gear. I've straddled that rut in first a few times perfectly. It was just a mph too fast.
