anyone know if these will fit, a straight across swap. I heard something about 16" rims having an issue fitting over the caliper sometimes. Going to use stock tires for now as well.

I've seen some of those where the snap ring around the edge had massive corrosion underneath ... Maybe okay and not a problem in some areas, but if you're anywhere that salt is on the road you may want to take that into consideration.

That's why I didn't buy them. This is an issue if you run them year round.

I plan to run them without the trim rings, looks better that way.

I ran mine without the rings for the first year, but after taking some damage while offroading decided to put them on. cheaper to replace the ring than the rim

Do you think they're more susceptible to damage offroading than any other rim without a trim rings such at the TRD Pros or the stock rims?

They will get damaged just like any other rim.

No worries then as long as they're not MORE LIKELY to get damaged than any other wheel.

What tyfoon was trying to explain is that he can wheel and damage the rings (not the actual wheel), then he can just replace the rings when he feels like it and have his wheels looking new again. My rings are damaged and my wheels are still almost untouched.

FYI it's not that hard to repair wheel rash with some metal bondo and a can of spray paint :)

I wouldn't even think about repairing my wheels. You do? It's not something I would spend time doing.

I understand that, I was just curious if anyone has had issues with paint flaking, corrosion or they bend easier with these wheels more than any others when offroading.

No paint flaking or corrosion in Hawaii. At least not on mine.

Would depend on the wheel. Some are cheap enough to just replace, and if they're for off-roading they're going to just be getting scuffed up next weekend anyways ;)

I fixed some for my Mustang though, and they came out real nice. I found a tutorial online and just copied the technique.

Yep, I like that look better than the TRD Pros that everyone else seems to be choosing.

what he said. last trip I did a fair amount of damage to the rings, but as they are aluminum I just took a hammer and flattened out the gnarly bits and will just re-spray (mine are bed lined) the wheels are no more or less susceptible themselves, just have more protection from the ring
