Thanks coma, I got an icon stage 2 and demello sliders coming. The lift should be fine and I would assume the sliders would bolt on to either also. The bakflip g2, console vault, and weather tech mats though I'm pretty sure would not work on the 2016.

You are illustrating precisely WHY a sales-**whatever** does NOT have the right to make a decision. Because they make BAD decisions like this one did. Unfortunately for the **owner**, when an employee screws up like this, it is a big deal to take it back once it has been said.

They were able to duplicate the issue. But we're unable to diag the cause. They seem to think it is wheel speed sensor related. They tried swapping wheel speed sensors around but we're not able to pinpoint the issue for certain. They wanted me to come get it today and keep an eye out for the issue to occur again. But I'm still entertaining the idea of a new truck. The **sales manager** was out today but was told that they did find a 2015 Tacoma. But it is up to the **sales manager** to say yes it is OK to go that far a get the truck. So I'm gonna go in tomorrow.

Ye that's what I was thinking. But the said everything was in place. They said they found one of the bolts lose. But when I asked how that explains both sides of the headliner being wet he just said, "well the tech took it all apart and resealed everything." Which I'm pretty sure just means silicone. If I ever get another truck and decide to do the roof rack I will do it myself. I trust my own work more than someone's I don't know.

O.P. - I would document every problem you have noticed so far plus look for more. Then give the dealer's service department an itemized list and a chance to fix everything and make it perfect. If they can't get everything you documented fixed perfectly for you within 3 tries, then you should be able to claim lemon law right away and get into a brand new 2016 on their dime.

If they are able to fix your truck to your satisfaction; then I would still go to the sales guy separately and try to work in a free extended warranty due to their faulty work causing you lost time, aggravation, and the possibility of issues years down the road.

Don't take any crap from the dealer or let them make you pay for an upgraded 16. You spent a lot of money on a new truck and deserve to be made whole. You have the lemon laws on your side, so use them if necessary.

I'm just curious but does "lemon law" actually apply to an OEM installed roof rack/accessory that was installed months post purchase?

I figure the electrical issues would be more applicable

I worked the roof rack into the deal. They ordered it when I bought the truck so it was installed about a week after purchase. Being a licensed Toyota dealer I would assume anything oem installed by them would fall under lemon laws if it failed to be fixed 3 times. That's how it works right? If the same issued fails to be resolved 3 times it's classified as a lemon.

its damage due to improper installation of an accessory, im betting its not covered under lemon law. Unless its due to the mount holes being bad from factory.

Not limited to "3 fix attempts", at least for Georgia it also applies to the vehicle being in the shop for 30 days, or also if the issue can be a life-threatening safety hazard or something to that end. I didn't reference the actual law but the website I went to said "accessories" are not applicable. Whether or not that means OEM dealer installed add-ons don't apply, I am not sure.

In my neck of the woods, the top dog other than the owner is the General Manager. He/she runs the operation of the entire dealership. Sales mgr. deals with him; not the owner, but again that's how it is in my locale. Maybe there's a shorter chain of command where you live.

Well Toyota came in to look at my truck yesterday to see if they could find out what went wrong but were not successful. Also they looked at my roof where I noticed I had some rail dust. In my research I was under the impression they could just clay bar out the rail dust but was told it would need to be repainted. The service manager called me and wants me to come in today to speak with the owner of the dealership and the sales manager. She said that the owner wants to make me a hell of a deal on a new 2016 Tacoma. When I last went in and spoke with the dealership I was under the impression that we had discussed some sort of extended warranty. Perhaps they are looking to lemon law my truck. A guy at work sent me a link that stated lemon law could be claimed with just one occurrence if the problem that occurred was dangerous and the cause not found. Here is the link.... http://www.ohioattorneygeneral.gov/...s/Consumer-Tips/Consumer-Tips-Auto/Lemon-Laws

Good luck op. I know you have some stuff ordered, but I'd take the 16 if the price is right. You may lose 100-200 by selling your accessories, but I personally wouldn't feel comfortable driving that truck again after water damage especially if the deal is right on a 16.

Yeah, I have accepted the fact that I am most likely going to wind up in a 2016 even though I really want a 2015 like I have. I already had them hold off on the sliders just in case I go with the 16'. The Icon lift is still on the way though. I am trying to find out if I can trade my Console vault for a 16' one also. I have seen some pictures of the new Tacoma lifted and I have to admit they do look a lot better.

Yeah it's one reason I got rid of my 15 to get a Ram. The 16 looks better to me personally. I'm very indecisive about what vehicle I want right now because I want them all lol. Gonna wait a few years and pick up a TRD Off-road. Ram should be paid off by then.
