The plug itself is in the easiest location it could be, points straight down... why is there an issue using it as is?

    ^ This.

You leave lots of oil behind anyway, and if you like to run the truck to get it warm before changing you are just mixing everything up and putting any particles back into suspension - so the oil at the bottom of the pan is the same as the oil everywhere else. I have a drag racing buddy who dumps a fresh quart of oil into each breather on his V8 after draining the used oil to further flush things out, but that seems to be wasteful overkill for a daily driver. Adding slots or filing down rows of threads seems like a much better solution, but I don't think that this is even necessary.

had a fumoto in my last truck...loved it...
but for my 2016 is it really worth it? You still have to drop the skid to get to the filter, then use the special tool on that, so you are under there for awhile anyways...correct me if I'm wrong?

I've had a Fumoto drain valve in my 2007 for most of its lifetime. 8 years? No issues at all and I love it!!!

What's worse? Leaving 1 cup of oil in the pan because the drain valve is sticking UP higher in the pan? Or lowering the drain valve with washers making it 'longer' and easier to snap off?

I wouldn't add washers... You'll probably overtighten the valve just to get it tight enough against the pan because you have washers.... and you could possibly buckle the pan or mess up the threads (however thin they are).

You probably have to drop the skid plate. We don't have to on our 4 cylinders. :D

You can drill a hole in the skidplate or get a vacuum pump to suck the oil out!

If it was that important to get every dirty drop out. I'm pretty sure the manufacturer would have made the pan shaped a little more of an angle to get every last drop out!

I don't see 2016 Tacoma listed on the Fumoto site, which valve (part number?) are you guys purchasing for the V6?
