I was changing the transmission oil today and in the bottom of the pan I found a washer. I vaguely remember not seeing one on the drain plug, even though the fill plug had one so something doesnt make sense here. I wasn't afraid of getting dirty so I removed the the drain plug by hand and dont remember anything falling..

To complicate the matter I had a buddy use the garage recently to change his oil and he used the same oil pan and it still had some oil in it today when I started my work. I'm wondering if someone can see if their drain plug on the transmission has a washer.

So.. All the drain and fill plugs have a crush washer.

I'm assuming since the '16 has a 2TR you also have a R155 like the 2nd gen 4x4 Tacos. I can tell you from personal experience they have crush washers.

They're made out of a soft metal and normally don't just fall off the plug, but where your truck is so new it may have.

Yeah so it must be mine. I'll keep an eye on it then because I'm not about to drain the red line oil I put in. Hopefully it doesn't leak.

As shitty as it is, if it starts to leak you don't have much of a choice!

Grab ur empty bottle out of the garbage. Clean ur pan really well. Pull the plug install washer quick as possible the pour oil back in bottle top back off. I've had to do it before.
