Ok, here's the deal, I ordered a TRD sport 6 sped with JBL DC Tacoma with tube steps, TRD exhaust, Daytime running lights, carpet mats, and towing package. I placed this order at the end of October. Roughly 10.23.09. My dealer just called today to tell me that my order may take until mid-January whereas before he told me mid-December. He says they have truck very similar to mine coming mid-december. It is a TRD Off-road package with everything I want minus the JBL Audio system.
I will be moving to Northern minnesota in a couple of years where they have an off road park that I could frequent. I just found this out a couple days ago (which is why I originally ordered the Sport, though the LSD would be plenty for snow).
I know I will go to this park but won't do anything too crazy. I really like the hood scoop on the Sport package though.
What do you guys think? Should I get the off-Road package or just stick with the one I ordered and wait a month longer.
By the way, they come out to being approximately the same price (within 300 dollars.)
Any advice would be great thanks.

If you get the one they have in stock, they should be able to give you a better discount than the one you ordered.

Review the options of both side by. using all the info, then decide.
I wouldn't buy the sport just because of the hood scoop.

I say get the OR. You may end up wheeling more than you think. Just upgrade stock speakers. And the hood with the scoop can always be added later.

If you'll think you'll use the locker, get the OR model, if not just stick with the sport. I agree it will cost less if you just get the sport hood later rather than having to add on a locker.

Kinda agree. Think about the feature you can't add versus the one you can. You can always trick out an OR to look like a sport.

Yeah...The JBL speaker system isn't worth it imo...You'll get better results from putting your own stuff there.
The hood scoop is easy to add if you want it so bad.

Try to talk them down on the one in stock!!

While you wait you can always keep looking at other dealers and get a better deal. You don't owe them anything, if they can't get your exact truck on the lot, someone else can.

I would wait for the truck that you ordered. Few extra weeks, no biggie. Do not settle, get the truck that you want.

To make matters worse, I got the truck I 'wanted', but now I kinda want 4x4, which wasn't what I wanted when I got it :p

Appreciate the response. I think getting the hood scoop later isn't a big deal. I didn't know about this off-road course when I ordered my truck, which is why I ordered the Sport. According to the dealer, my truck doesn't even have a build date yet. My 500 dollar deposit could still be easily transferred to the other truck. I ordered it from my brother-in-law's dealership he works at in Minneapolis so he is giving me as good a deal as he can get. To make matters worse, I'm already going to be in Minneapolis during the time this other truck is slated to arrive (I live in KS for the time being). I'm waiting to hear from them about the final price he is going to give me. I'm trying to get them to give me a good deal on a set of BF Goodrich AT TA KO to make the deal sweeter. If they can do this, then I may get the off-road and settle for the non-JBL sound system. I've been in a 09 Taco without the JBL and it sounded pretty damn good.
    Thanks for all the responses.
    I'll keep you posted.
