I landed this deal a few weeks ago and put down a deposit. Seems like a fair deal to me but I've read a lot and gained a lot of good info on here. What do you guys think of this?

Ordered 2016 TRD Sport 4X4 DCSB Auto with Premium Tech and JBL
    Towing
Carpeted Floor Mats / Door Sill Protectors
    Exhaust Tip
    Mudguards.
    $38,784 MSRP

Trade. 2012 TRD Sport with Upgrade Package
4X4 DCSB Auto with JBL and NAV
Carpeted Floor Mats / Door Sill Protectors / Exhaust Tip
Very Good Condition 9000 Mile and have the title.

When I did the math I counted on $28000 for mine, and I asked for $500 over invoice. Communicated mostly by email. Dealer said they did not see any problems with my request. Went in a few weeks later and this is what I got.

    $27000 for my trade
    $36000 New Truck
$9000 Difference plus tax and tags.

I made an offer of $9500 Out The Door, Dealer accepted and I put a $500 deposit on it. It should be ordered this week. They told me 8 to 12 weeks. What do you all think? Did I do ok?

When I ran the numbers I came to $9430 and change not with tags and doc fees so I thought I was dead on the money.

Get your steps and tonneau from AutoAnything, throw some Husky or WeatherTechs in there, and I'd say the only thing you're missing is a TacomaWorld sticker.

    I don't think that is a bad deal. $9000 "depreciation" between a 12 and a 16 is about right,

I paid $6000 More than my 15 Sport for my 16, but I also ordered the $2.7K Premium and tech JBL option I did not have on the 15. I did sell my 15 privately though so that helped.

Truck for truck it would have been $3000 out of pocket

    A 2012 with only 9000 miles…wow that's some low milage.
I just sold my 2012 sport (1 package below loaded)…had 38,000 miles on it, sold it for $29,000CAD privately, so with the conversion rate, and you dealing with a dealer, I think you got a pretty good rate.

I too would have preferred to sell my truck privately, But, I would probably have paid more in sales tax than I would have gained. So, 6 of one, half dozen of the other I guess.
