    All the time!!!
Was going to wait for the 16's to come out, but in July I saw my first picture of the 16's, well needless to say the next day I went to looking for a new 15, found it a week later and bought it right then. I got a new 15, v6, SR5, 4x4, with backup camera, and with different wheels added, and a few more goodies for $30k. The only things I wanted to change were the grill, add nice seat covers, floor mats, tires, UCA's, shocks, and springs to raise it up and level it. I'm all finished and never been Happier, especially every time I see one of the 16's, and hear there Prices. Damn Toyota really Screwed Up Big this time in my opinion, for what it worth!1122151002b1.jpg 11221510021.jpg

I didn't really 'wait' for a 3rd Gen, but I was shopping last summer right when it was that 'in-between' time b/w the '15s and '16s. I took one look at the 3rd Gen and immediately knew that I had to get one of the last 2nd Gen new ones on the lot. I ended up with a '15 DCSB PreRunner bought last July, and couldn't be happier. With how the 3rd Gens are stacking up against their competition (not well at all), the value of the 2nd Gens is only going to increase with time.

    Welcome Texas!

So I have always wondered... what exactly is on the 'Texas edition' that makes it the Texas edition?

Bought a '15 in June, knew I wasn't going to like the new engine and transmission combo. Glad I did, like the '16 and all the interior appointments, but the engine is performing just as I expected.

Bought a 2015 dcsb 4x4 sport in September because I knew that 16 would add another $3k and none were available. Paid $30k otd, added tonneau, chrome rhino d2 steps, and ordering coilovers soon. Saw the 16's a month later and am happy with my purchase.

Irregardless of year, they all break. 4.0 motors are breaking everyday, just read the threads. What is missing in the 2016 is the support of all the guys that know them inside and out. I wanted the 10 yr old driveline that everyone on here knows inside and out. I buy for the long haul. I could care less about the look at my new truck (payment) guys that always run brand new paint. Ten years from now, if the 3rd gens stand up and deliver... I'll buy one right before the fourth gen rolls out. Maybe the new Nissan Cummings marriage will gain speed... Who knows. If the 2016 is an abortion, my 2015 will pay me to own it. Think of the ford diesel 6.0 disaster...

I waited for the 2016s, test drove it as well. I ended up finding a 2012 a few hours away from me and I feel like I got a good deal on it. As petty as it sounds, I just couldn't make it past that new front end on the 2016s.

Not petty at all. Those things are hideous.

    Nice truck!

I waited for the 2016 announcement then ordered a 2015 that was delivered in March. Nothing really wrong with the 2016 but nothing worth waiting for - at least for my needs. I wanted a functional camping truck by Sept. 2015 and that would have meant paying top dollar for a 2016 and a rushed build schedule, so the 2016 needed something majorly different to be worth it to me (for me significantly increased payload would have been the biggest factor but honestly I didn't expect anything like that).

Really the biggest advantage to me in buying a 2nd gen was the extensive knowledge available here and in the aftermarket. Things like the front diff bearing issues already being resolved with the proven ECGS replacement available are a big deal to me. All the various documented mods and what not are huge time savers to quickly making a "better" truck for my needs. In a few years that will all be available for the 3rd gen of course, but I needed something now.

As far as new vs. used mint goes I was happier just getting the new truck, the Tacoma holds value too well! The logistics of doing used shopping wasn't going to work well in my situation either so waiting for a new truck configured the exactly the way I wanted it at the Costco pricing was a better choice than late model used.

I'm not one that has a big problem with the looks of the '16 ( I think they actually look pretty good in person), I've just learned that the last year of a vehicle model cycle is always a better bet for reliability ( and there are definitely some new things going on in that 3.5), plus I've always liked the style of the 2nd gen, especially the Sport. And the 2nd gen was cheaper. No regrets so far, love the truck. If it turns out that the 3rd gen is a home run maybe I'll get one in a few years. More likely I'll slowly add some stuff I want like wheels, tires, heated mirrors, leather seat covers and drive the '15 for 10 or more years.

I was in the market for a '16 when I bought my '15. I went to the dealer, and they had ONE third gen in stock. It was a fully loaded Limited (I think) two wheel drive. I almost bought it but then the guy I buy all my Toyotas from said check this out, it's our last '15. I asked them what kind of deal I could get on it, ended up walking out of there for just under $31k with them paying my TT&L. Sticker was $36800 or so. I figured I got a pretty good deal, so I ran with it. I'm happy, and the rest is history.

I got my 2015 SR5 Access cab 4x4 in October.I waited for the local dealer to get a 2016,4 cyl auto.I drove it and the next day called the dealer an hour away from me and bought the '15.For about $600 less than the '16 four banger I got the SR5, tow package and the V6.Very happy with the truck.I traded a 2011 Ford Ranger.

I saw my first 2016 in person the other day...that front end is worse than I thought.

I really wanted a 2016 and after reading all the reviews from the USA I pulled the trigger on 1 of 2 2015s left on the lot mgm or black , that was a really hard decision. I bought it in the middle of Aug and the 2016 came out in Septembe. And every time I see the 2016 me and the wife always laugh because of how ugly that front end is

This is the day I picked it up it had 8km (canadia ) right after the pdi
