Personally, I have yet to have any issue at all with any of their ammo. I admit I have only sampled 8000 rounds or so in various calibers, but they all fired at the appropriate time and the cases all flinked out into a neat pile. Sometimes you get a nickel case mixed in, but it still functions fine.

Hadn't seen anything about that. Now I'm curious, though. Do you have a link, or do I have to do my own legwork and start googling?

FWIW, I've put a few thousand of their rounds downrange without issues of any kind, but like I said it's a limited test of about 1000 rounds of .45 thru my 1911, and probably 2500 rounds of 9mm through my Shield, G19, and 5906.

You get a demerit for no safety in picture one.

    Other than that, though...

fb reports on the NFA page. It's all been pretty recent.

The gun was just picked up from my FFL with zero ammo. No innocent lives were lost.

That's all fine and dandy, just passing on info. Seems quite a few have had issues lately. And they have had issues in the past. Years ago. Just something to keep in mind, that's all.

I've had some ftf with freedom reloads, thinking hard primers because they didn't function in my shield, glock, or fns.

    True.
Cocked without the manual thumb safety engaged just doesn't set right in my stomach, that's all. My dad hammered it into me when I was learning that "ALL safeties on until you're either ready to shoot or you're empty!" and reinforced it with swats to the back of the head when I forgot, lol.
    Guess it stuck, though.

Yeah, my old man has one too. Same thing; he bought it because the local gun shop was selling the gun, a holster, a spare mag, and a box of ammo for $150. It mostly just sits in the safe because he hates the ergonomics, but he figured for $150 it'd do fine as a backup if he ever has a breakdown with his H&K (unlikely)

I bought a utg years ago and to be honest it's decent. It's not quality but for $25 it has served me well. If I were to do it again on a dedicated rifle I'd go Harris

Get the harris. Ive had both the UTG and Harris. While the UTG works, the Harris just plain better in every aspect. Its one of those things to splurge a bit on cause you can use it on multiple guns
