Are yours P or LT?

The truck sticker recommends 30 but that's for P metric tires. These are LT tires. They take a higher inflation pressure. Still, I'm going to 50 as Michelin recommends.

 

Mine are LT's. The LT's have a higher max pressure, but that doesn't mean that you inflate them to that for normal use. That pressure is for when the tire is loaded to its highest rating , which ours trucks do not even come close to. If you inflate them too much, you'll end up wearing the center of them out.

 

Agreed. I think I should follow Michelins recommendation and go to 50.

 

I should add to this, that the MPG increase is a theory even. Tests have even been run and shown no increase, so in reality all that over-inflation is really doing is making for a harsh ride.

 

I think 50 is a safe number for avoiding uneven tire wear, but I think you'd find that it is more than necessary for everyday use, and you could improve your ride quality by lowering it. My suggestion would be to do your own chalkline test and see at what PSI exactly your tires contact the road evenly.

I was getting my truck aligned the other day,and a tire by the window caught my eye. I cruised over to check it out,and it was the AT2. I was impressed,it LOOKS like a passenger car tire online,but way more aggressive in person. I will strongly consider these for my next tires.

Yes, seeing in person is a lot different. They look very mild. In reality they are seriously rugged tires.

Yeah, mine are the LT's. I have noticed a little drop in mpg's. But I have good tires now so I'm not concerned.

The short answer: Cuz every truck should have a chrome bumper

No offense to those of you that have a TRD Sport, but I'm not a fan of the color matched gear (or the 17' polished Sport wheels).
I originally wanted a base model but this Sport was so clean (only 12K miles) I couldn't pass it up. So little by little I'm swapping out the matching gear.
So far, the bumper, grille bezel, off road wheels. Plans: base hood w/o scoop and black mirrors and door handle's.

 

If you don't need an aggressive AT tire then I can't think of a better tire for you. I replaced my Cooper AT3s with these when I had my second gen and had zero balance issues and it really made the driveline vibration that my second gen had much more tolerable. I did some light off-roading in them and it did just fine on kid logging roads and getting to hunting lands. If I recall correctly I think that tire (Michelin in general) is the only tire made from a one piece mold. My Coopers were made in about four sections and while I liked them, they were never fully balanced.

 

Are you guys getting o metric or LT? Any preferences or pros/cons I should know?

Does the P rated tire still look as aggressive as the lt
