Curious why you would go above the bed with canti? Isn't the whole point of canitlever systems to maintain your bed? Not a roast, just wondering where you head is at with this?

saw it on ohsnapitseddies truck on insta, i really like the looks of it, i dont mind loosing bed space and stuff since im a DC so theres not whole lot to start with, and ive been looking at other builds and im not a fan of having all that under the truck hanging.

Other then canti setups being pretty hard to tune and valve..go for it. Id just SUA though and save the space for at least spare tires

if it becomes too much of a pain ill just go traditional, dont really wanna ditch my 12"s since i just go them and 16"s would just be another part to hunt down. i think the canti would be fun to make and be different
not sure yet, jordan didnt like it on his dc did he?

Cantilever setups traditionally have given up a little on performance when compared to your standard shock setup. Your also adding more parts to wear or fail

Yea just complex. I thought about it for a long time. But just wasn't worth it. Be easy to sell your 12s too

Had cantilever on my first ranger, but it was a mid travel cruiser. Made a few valve changes to it, then bought brand new shocks and had the guys at King put in what they thought was good. It was way better after that. It's a complex system with a lot of moving parts to maintain and keep from binding. The truck is still going with the same shocks and cantilever kit, it's owned by some kid who "owns" one of those ranger Instagram pages.

IMO you can build a space saving bed cage for some 14 or 16" shocks and waste much less space than a cantilever set up, be easier to tune, and not have your shocks sitting in a 'come steal me' location. Your truck though.

If you get a good motion ratio, don't see why a canti setup won't work well, keep your shocks away from all the debris. The traditional way tho, u can build a pretty sleek cage to keep the bed, I'm gunna run 18"s and I'll have most my bed still. Could be a fun project tho, how bout a canti/link setup with coilovers? That would be sum shit!

And as far as theft, run 12pt aircraft bolts n nuts with drilled heads n shanks, then safety wire that shit, most tweakers won't figure it out, shit most people scratch their heads at 12pt bolts

Have a good supplier for those? I hate drilling heads.

I have custom bolts and nutz I had made. My uncle owns Dillon aero/precision so he can whip me up stuff. As far as bed space it doesn't matter to me cause I only haul my dirt scooter every other weekend. So space doesn't matter. I'm more looking at if the 12" will work above the bed on a double cab like how eddies truck is. He's running 12" bypasses and was built at frontline. If I can get those measurements on the pivots or have them make some for me I can do the rest of the geometry and stuff

At that point just link it and be done. Sua is race proven, why do something that is more complicated and time consuming? If your willing to give up your bed for questionable travel you might as well back half it throw some links in and have a something that works

I would link it if I had another daily. To me this truck is a fun daily weekend warrior dealieo. I like trying new and different things rather than just doing what everyone else has already done. That's how my brain works, do what no one else has done. If what I have planned doesn't work I'll do something else. Eventually the truck will be linked and caged and all the other mumbo jumbo but I'd like to buy a new Tacoma for a daily then go balls out on this. But for now it's just a fun rig to try different things. I'm not just gonna sink money into it when I don't have to when I have crawler to build too. Yea doing it once and be done but that's dumb, there's no fun in that. That's my opinion I just asked to see if anyone has doubts that 12" bypasses would work on a double cab with the cantilever like the pic I posted. If it doesn't get every inch of travel it really doesn't matter to me

If it's just a dd warrior. Id leave it as it is. Just romp it and tune the shocks.
