Ok so today My dealer gave me a VIN Number. He said "This is your truck". I remember reading on here sometime ago that there was a way to tell from the VIN the scheduled week of production. Can anyone refresh my memory with that? Thank You in advance.

If they gave you a temporary VIN the last six digits will be two numbers, a letter, and three more numbers. Of those digits, the first two numbers will denote the build week. If the VIN you were given has all numbers in the last six digits then the truck is built and somewhere between the factory and the dealer.

What if the temporary VIN you were given is all numbers...no letters? Any way to decipher or lookup where it will be built?

All numbers in the last six digits is not a temporary VIN, it is an actual VIN of a truck that has been built. Temporary or real, the first digit denotes factory. For Tacoma's, a VIN that starts with a five comes from Texas, VINs that start with a three come from Mexico.

The last 6 digits of my VIN no. are 04A834, So I assume this is a temporary VIN No. and means the truck will be scheduled to be built in the 4th week of 2016?

Or do you mean all numbers all the way through, no letters at all? If so that's got nothing to do with Toyota's VIN numbering system and its some BS dealer or port shit and I'd guess you're in SET, GST or Hawaii.

Yes, all numbers all the way through, and it is a VIN from GST. So I assume it is their internal tracking prior to getting the actual VIN. I just didn't know if there was anybody on here who had a way to look up any further details based on that number.
