what lifts should i stay away from?

im just researching all these types of lifts... which ones should i stay away from?

 

Blocks for the rear!

 

In coil spacers and blocks...

 

many people don't like spacer lifts, which in essence is placing a spacer in between the top of the coil tower dealy-o and the coil itself. People do not like these becuase generally a rough ride is the consiquence. Also stay away from blocks in the rear, cause these lead to axle wrap and a bad ride. If you go with a body lift i wouldn't go more than one inch, cuase you will run into problems with safety otherwise (especially if you offroad at all). The best lift for the money would be billy 5100 all around set at 2.5 in the front and 1.75 in the back.

 

There is no "setting" the rear shocks-You get the extended travel from the 5100s in the rear...but you need an AAL or a full replacement leaf pack to get any lift in the rear...

 

WHat would you suggest if i wanted to go 3"?

 

stay away from any and all lifts. lifts are evil. only joking. TC long travel. I'd love to LT the 4runner

 

yea, woops!! good catch, I haven't run the billy's, so I guess I was just going off of what I thought read about them, which was apperentaly wrong

There is nothing wrong with blocks. You will get some axle wrap but that can be calmed a couple different ways.

Definitely stay away from front spacers. On an IFS vehicle spacers are the incorrect way to achieve lift. They do not obtain any of the correct suspension geometry you also lose any ride quality you had before them.
