Are any of you guys running Cooper S/T maxx's? I just put some on my 14' DC TRD OR Dec 24th at 9 am and broke my ankle later that day about 1pm up at Brighton. So I have yet to try them out in the snow!!! It's killing me not being able to play in the snow!!! Just wondering how well they do since I can't physically try it :(.

On another note, dont they make the ceramic tint with alomost 100% of light that passes through? If so you could cover your whole windshield! That stuff blocks the heat like a mofro! Bountiful Mazda has a small display with a heat lamp and a slide with different tint. Pretty neat stuff!

I have ST Maxx's, they're excellent in unpacked snow and not as good as snow tires but better than A/T's on packed snow and ice.

How much life are you guys getting out of the ST Maxx's? I've heard some people say 50k but not sure if they have as rough terrain as we do out here lol.

Stuff and things that make it better.
Don't know about ST Maxx's but my BFG MT KM2's have sucked in the snow, it took a box cutter and some elbow grease for them to finally do a tad better up the canyons. Tread is almost 1" gone in only 20k. I'm looking into other options for my next choice of tires.

I only have about 10-15k on mine. I bet they will last to 40k before I replace them. They don't show much wear so far.

Thanks for all the replies! I should really get on here more often! Ha I really like how these tires look on my rig. I was flip flopping in my head between Duratracs and the coopers so we will see how I like them after I put a few more miles on the coopers.

This morning it dawned on me that I hadn't done my usual winter driving prep and my tires were still at 40 PSI with no camper shell or sand tubes to weigh down the rear axle. I was still getting good enough traction, even in 2WD, that I never had an "oh shit!" moment. Now my tires are at 28 PSI and I put a little weight in the back, so I'm predicting much better traction on packed snow and ice.

I know a few people who have tried Duratracs. The consensus was they were unstoppable new, but quickly wore out and lost their grip.

    .
Thanks, I feel much better about my choice on the coopers :)

Summer and winter I usually just keep my tires around 35. Maybe the next time I go driving in a storm I should try dropping my air pressure. 28-30 is good all around number for winter?

I run mine at 25 in winter :anonymous: but I don't drive it unless it's snowing.
