2ndary air filter removal vs warranty issues?

New to the forms, new to Tacomas. Glad I got into both.... (OK, now I've dug my way through the cheese....)



I'm sure this is a stupid question -- Will the secondary air filter removal void warranty?

If so, would it make sense to go with a CAI and just reattach the stock intake system for warranty work? Do most CAI models bypass the secondary filter? Is it worthwhile for mileage to do a CAI?

 

It won't void the warranty. However, anything you do to the truck could be used by the provider to deny you warranty service in the event of a failure related to something you did.

My charcoal (secondary filter) is removed. HOWEVER, if I had it to do over again I'd just leave it. It really makes very little difference if ANY.

A CAI does very little in regard to performance on these trucks since the OEM system already IS a CAI. Just go with a performance filter like the AFE ProdryS.

 

That's what I've got now... just wondering it it'd be worth it for one or the other.....

Does AFE sponsor this site, or are the ProDry filters just work that well? I've always been a K&N kid, but after reading the very strong recommendations for the AFE, I got one..
