    Dropped the truck off today before work, going under the knife! URD Stage 3, URD flywheel, T/O bearing upgrade, ARP bolts.

    From what I've read I need to go drive around for about 300-500 miles of stop and go and constant gear changes? And no boosting (cry).

    You can boost..you just dont want to full throttle every chance you get and have the clutch chattering the whole time.

    Ok. I was just planning on taking it easy, running through the gears slowly but running up the revs in each gear before shifting. I'll just be sure not to go slamming through gears at all until its broken in. Alot of the stuff I've read says it still takes a couple thousand miles until everything stops making noise and feels fully broken in.

    Do 500 to be on the safe side. It will pass much more quickly than it seems. It will be worth it. Then hammer down!

    My Spec Stage 3+, with its extremely coarse friction material, took about 2k miles, until it tamed down and stopped chattering. At first test drive, I thought I had done something improperly during the installation. It held more than its rated torque. I cannot praise that clutch enough. It is rated to 550 crank torque. My truck was regularly boosting 550 wheel torque. Practically everywhere. Lol

    Yea that's alot of what I've been reading about break in and such. Go super easy, make sure everything beds in correctly and nothing gets glassed over, and then after about 500 you're good to go. Every thing I've read about the Stage 3 says it grabs like crazy! So that will be fun getting used to. Will also prevent me from slipping it to much! And then exactly as you said, alot of people saying it was super chattery and sounds coming from there for first couple thousand miles.

    No Call today, so I'm assuming I get to wait until Monday. Once I got home and really started thinking about it, I realized how much actual work is involved in dropping the trans lol. Would definitely have taken me a good solid 12 hour+ a day weekend to get it done I think (by myself). At least the first time.

    A lot by oneself with no lift. Took me about 16 hours the first time. Without proper tools. At TexFest we had a team of people and did the drop swap in just over 3 hours! We were f*cking flying man!

    This is pretty much what I'm going to be picking up soon as well. Once the truck goes under the knife for LT I won't be DDing it as much and 35s really kill gas mileage lol. Keeping an eye out on CL for something in the 1 grand range that i can fix if it breaks :D

    It's not as bad as you think. With 37's I still average 14.7mpg mixed, and I don't drive it easy. $1000 buys 333 gallons of fuel @ $3 a gallon... even if your mileage dropped by 10% it would take years to justify the price of the added vehicle.
