I couldn't decide on the best "permanent" location for mine so I just placed it on top of the steering column as a temp measure. I purchased the Vertical mount option. With the gauge mounted to that, it sits well on top of the column. I slid it over to one side just a bit. It blocks the view of the right turn signal but that is about it. It rides well (no sliding around). I used a Velcro cable bungee to gather the cable. I ran it down to the connector and placed a small anchor just above the hood latch pull to prevent accidental snagging of the cable getting in and out. I'll find a home for it eventually once I stop adjusting settings and calibrating. Kind of like it being down out of the line of sight and out of view.

Not to bad I had made it so the OE button worked most of what I wanted to see. You do have to disassemble the ultra gauge to get it to work in the space though but that has been long gone and is now back to the OE clock/temp cluster.

    A lot!
    5/15/15 AN UPDATE

After looking at all the possibilities offered I decided on the Bird Dawg Industries mount for the Ultragauge. I needed a new place for my GPS (Etrex 20). So, I removed the lower grab handle bolt and used a RAM mount ball used for the RAM RAM-B-367U Motorcycle Handlebar Clamp Base with 1" Ball & M8 Screws, bought a longer 6mm bolt with washers to fir it out and mount the GPS there. Both applications allow me to watch the road with very little distraction or eyes away from the road. I would highly recommend both upgrades.

Its not perfect, but worked as planned with a some effort. I created a 3D model in Pro-E and 3D printed it at work on our Makerbot. Sanded and painted it with vinyl dye.

I went with a tech deck and then a sticky dash mount from Ram, stuck it onto the back of the ultragauge clip that it comes with and trimmed to fit.

    And ended up with this

I'm glad you guys like it. I printed another that fits better still not perfect though but its much nicer as it snaps into place and unsnaps & swings down for access to the buttons on the back. The 3D printer I have at work is slow and pretty much a hobbyist machine. Not really meant for production. It took 24 hours to print and then I still had to sand, fill in the rough spots, sand some more, texture and spray dye. Overall I spent way too much time on this. If there is a way to produce quality plastic parts without investing a $10k on a plastic injection mold. I would make em and offer em up.

I'd love to get this CAD model to have one made for myself. I know a few people with printers as well

I started a new job where they have 3D printers available for personal use. I wanted to make another copy of a snorkel I designed that draws cold air in from the grill to my AFE intake. I couldnt find any of the files for that or the ultra gauge holder. I'm really bummed. I looked at least 3 times through all my thumb drives, etc. I have no idea how I didnt save them. I have an extra UG holder as backup. The one shown it the pics, but no files.

Here are some pics of my AFE cold air snorkle. It sits next to the pass headlight shown on the left and routes into the d-shaped hole at the bottom of my AFE. These images are all the files I can find. They are what I sent to my new boss as an example of my personal design work.
