I'm curious to see how much crap ends up on the paint during the transportation process of our trucks. I'm waiting for a decent weather day on a weekend to clay bar mine. Looking forward to that so I can put a layer of Collinite 845 on it and make that black paint appear so deep you'll swear you could dive into it.

Place a thin sandwhich bag tight over your hand and run it over the paint.
The bag sensitizes your hand; you'll feel the contaminants.
I recommend an Eagle One prep mitt instead of clay; much faster, easier, and doesn't leave residue.

I've been using clay bars for years. You're going to have to persuade me to switch. :) Assuming you have used both, and being as objective as possible, does the prep mitt work as effectively as the clay ? Easy is nice, but effective is much more important to me. THANKS.

    Alaska Leather.

They are custom fit for the Tacoma seats and fit perfectly. There is a Velcro strip on the side where the airbag pops open. Not about to test them to see if it works but with my understanding of the force which airbags deploy, I'm sure it will be fine.

These were a gift and I'm not sure of the final cost... Hundreds. I'm sure Barb at Alaska Leather will tell you.

    Yes.
I've been using clay for 20 years. The mitt is superior in every way.
I used it for the first time a week ago and was skeptical too. I'm done with clay.
-not affected by temperature, cold clay is harsh and warm clay leaves residue
    -larger surface area
-leaves no residue, no extra wash step
-cleans faster, less likely to 'damage' finish
-no need to re-nead ; I would periodically saturate it and wipe with a microfiber.
I picked mine up at Autozone for $25. You'll need their detailer lubricant and make sure you do the break-in procedure in the instructions.

You had me at "I've been using clay for 20 years". You obviously were dedicated to clay and this mitt has won you over completely. I'll give it a try. THANKS again!

He may not have the JBL system. Besides, I think the JBL is good for a stock system but being a bit of an audiophile I would definitely upgrade if I plan on keeping the truck.

I am all for Off Roading and doing some trail riding but how can you not throw up in your mouth when you damage your brand new $40,000 truck?

Haha good deal man. I bought it to go play and get used, nice to see another guy that's not afraid to let his truck be a truck.

Still... gives me shivers thinking about it. I would just rhino line my whole body at that point. It would solve the pin stripe problem
