It's your money bro, but I would never pay that much. I can't wait to get mine in 2 weeks but I'd never pay that much for a Tacoma...

If you dont mind driving to find a deal, I know they are a bit cheaper in Mass, by an average of $2K. Tax is 6.5%, not sure what NJ is.

I may take you up on that..Need to check out a few more local places first. NJ is 7% plus you have to pay 5 years registration up front.

Not sure how PA and NY are on Tax, but they might also be cheaper. try out a few zip codes in truecar, will give you a pretty good guess what you can expect.

Thats a good question. My guess is no. If I renew my registration for the year and then sell the car I dont get it back so Im assuming its the same deal. Never sold a new car that fast.

    Yep..Thats what I thought LOL

Yep. Then I have to 7.50$ tire fee! WTF is that for lol...NJ sucks

Found another dealer thats more willing to deal. Offered me 1000 over invoice. At least thats a good starting point.

Any updates from anyone in San Diego? I've been lurking here for months, learning as I waited for the supply to increase and prices to become negotiable. Called my local dealer yesterday. He is happy to order me one, but at full MSRP, no Costco pricing. We have bought cars from this dealer before too. Anybody have any good referrals in the San Diego area?

Picked up my truck today in Chico, ca. Closest dealer willing to do Costco pricing I could find. 3.5 hour drive for me but cost was also only $500 over invoice.

That's a little far...but for that deal somewhere within a couple hours I'll buy now.

I'll keep asking around and see if I have any luck. Dealer is supposed to call me Monday to see if the order went through. Looking at 4X4 Sport double cab in silver with prem/tech/jbl and we want the factory TRD rims

I just ordered a TRD OR DCLB in Inferno with the tow package, Premium and Tech w/ JBL package, bed extender, all weather mats and sill protectors, mud guards, black oval tube steps and wheel locks for $38,174. It was a fluke that it happened, but I got it because there was a truck available at a dealer with those options that they were supposed to get for me, but didn't, so I was able to order it for that price.

I'm trying to figure out a fair price for a truck I plan to order. All the dealers around here (Denver/Boulder Colorado) seem to tack on a $499 Dealer Handling Fee in addition to the standard $900 Delivery Processing and Handling fee that appears on the sticker. I don't see a lot of talk about this $499 fee on this thread and assume this is just a bogus way of padding the profit margin. The dealers around here appear to have colluded on this and make it appear to be a standard thing. Anyone know what I'm talking about?

Looks similar to the docc fee (documentation fee) which varies by region. Around here, it was also around 500 and all the dealerships had the same "unwaivable" price.

Thanks for your reply. Yes, the dealers around here act like it is standard and non-negotiable. Does everyone wind up paying some variation on this fee? When people say they paid $X over invoice does this really mean X + $499? I'm thinking if I offer $500 over invoice that I am basically offering $999 over invoice which seems more than fair (to the dealer) but I don't want to be making incorrect assumptions.

My local dealer in Fort Walton Beach Fl adds that "admin" fee but they add $2999 to every vehicle on their lot. Its all negotiable of course, I have bought several vehicles from them so if it cant be waived I still have 2 other dealers 60 miles away in each direction that do not add that fee.

For the deal I am working, I have an offer from the dealership at about $800 over invoice before adding in the taxes, tag transfer fee, and dealer fee. My dealer fee is slightly higher at around $589 for my region. I am going in tomorrow to agree on final numbers for the truck, so I will be attempting to have them reduce that dealer fee a bit. Ultimately though, if they don't budge on the dealer fees I am still pretty happy with the deal I am getting.

I say offer the $500 over and see what they say! Good luck!
