My new FN FX Pro wheels came in yesterday and I am very impressed with the quality of the wheel and FN Wheels customer service... Dustin goes above and beyond and his service is top notch that in itself is worth it.. Can't wait to get these mounted up still trying to decide on tires. Wheels are 17x8 at 24lbs with two different center cap options.

Nice looking wheel. Do you have the specs on the wheel and what did they run you?

Busted CV boots and lots of squeaks.
    Those are nice.

I also spoke with Dustin at FN wheels when I bought my Konigs. I agree, he is very helpful and provides excellent customer service .

Thanks, they are 17x8 +0 Matte black the TRD center caps are extra but they come with solid black ones and black lugs are included. I paid $699 for the set with lugs and black center caps, $40 for the TRD caps.

I paid $744 delivered for my OEM TRD Pro wheels so it seems the price is pretty competitive. The advantage I see here is one additional inch of width so you can mount a wider tire - though I don't know if that would clear the UCA or not. What you appear to give up is hub-centric mounting - hence the new lug nuts. Unless I was going to run a wider tire, I would personally stick with the OEM TRD Pro wheels. They are true and balance up well with no wobble or vibration using the hub-centric design that came with the stock wheels on the Tacoma. It's luck of the draw if you can get a conical seat wheel to true up on a Toyota. I've been down that path before without good results, but that was just me. I remember my TRD Ivan Stewart wheels for my 1st Gen Tundra - OMG. Those things drove me bat shit crazy because they were not hub-centric and wobbled like I had the wheels off of Fred Flintstone's ride. Just throwing it out there because a lot of people don't realize this when considering an OEM wheel versus aftermarket. At the minimum, I would try to get a hub-centric ring if they make one to these wheels as true to the hubs as possible. I am OCD about this though - some people can drive around with the "shakes" and never even think about it. For me, I'm asking Siri for the closest America's Tire. LOL.

Regardless of the origin, they look great! Can't wait to see them mounted up.

They're also 3 pounds lighter than the official TRD Toyota versions as well. That's a little over 10%!

I heard a lot of great things on this forum about FN and Dustin from his happy customers. I'm happy I did too, because his customer service and products are the absolute best. So now I post about it too. They're an objective and factual performance improvement on these trucks. The 17" FN wheel (20.5lbs) I got has is 40% lighter than the stock 16s (32lbs)!

That's good info to have... I have been trying to decide between the FN and OEM versions. I think you just helped me make the right choice.

Is less weight a good thing in the case of a truck wheel that isn't forged? Just throwing that out there.

Okay, first off I am not a wheel expert, and I'm just copy-pasting what Dustin said in this thread:
I think this answers the question about hub-centric or whatever. The wheels are specifically designed for Toyota hubs and lugnuts.

I know the beadlock wheel is forged, but is this design from toyota forged as well?

For my usage as an on-road daily driver w/ occasional exploration, I would prefer lower weight than forging. Others are much more offroad dedicated. But I'd say most people buying a brand new truck aren't in it for hardcore offroading.

If they are hub-centric then that makes them much better - good post!

Thanks for posting that link JoeRacer I should have attached that info earlier. I was gonna go with the OEM wheels but something about the center hub design and the look of the 7" wide was not growing on me, then I had decided to go with Pro Comp 89's and wasn't totally convinced with them either till I ran across that thead from Dustin he posted on the 4Runner site and knew immediately I wanted a set of FX Pros over the OEM's. I was sold on the idea of them being 8" wide, hub centric, different center hub design, and a little lighter then the OEM's. To each is own and for my liking I made the right choice it's a matter of preference and can't go wrong with either wheel.

I'm very interested in these. Lighter than stock trd rims is great.

What size tires are you running on them? Lift/no lift?

Does anyone know what max sized tire you can run with these wheels with 2-3" fox/icon/toytec coilover lift with UCA?

I'm not gonna do a lift for now and I'm planning on going with 265×70×17 but not sure on the brand. I like the KO2 and Nitto G2 so far, I don't want anything to heavy rated but I do want a good durable quiet tire.

That's about what I'm thinking. This biggest hit to mpg is the weight of bigger tires. The savings with these over stock seems like you could run some non e rated 32-33 inch tires without much of a mpg hit

Anyone tried the passenger rated Hankook ATM's in 265/70/17? I have C1 rated 265/70/17 A/T KO2's on my truck and I would not want an E1 rated tire. Keep that in mind when sourcing your tires. The Hankook does offer a 50k warranty on the ATM. Doesn't look as good as some of the other tires out there, but it may be a good compromise if you want more aggressive, still passenger rated with additional off-road capability.
