What do you guys recommend for oil on a 3rz? I've always just went with whatever toyota supplied but now that I'm doing my own oil changes I wanted to see what ya'll recommend

I always use the type and viscosity that is recommended in the owners manual.
    Brand really doesn't matter.

were the 3 contact prongs (or whatever the hell theyre called) that are attached to the bottom of the housing bent at all? when mine would only go one direction i could activate it, try to unlock it got nothing, and jiggled the gear enough for a contact to complete the circuit and it would turn back. but that was because i melted a hole in the plastic stopping point on the surface of the gear. id try to see if its struggling to move back to unlock or no noise at all, and it you wiggle gear if you can coax it to move again as well. sorry its being a PITA

Moab in the snow was awesome! We had to change some plans to work around snow covered trails, but it allowed us to explore some areas we otherwise wouldn't. Also, I was playing with a real camera for the first time, a lot of my pictures didn't turn out, but a few of them did. One more just because:

The back spacing on my wheels probably helps.... Anyway I am pretty sure if I came anywhere close to bottoming out, my tires would rip my front fenders off haha

I was out there about a month ago for the first time and there was still a light dusting of snow in the shaded areas from a previous snow. Such an incredible place. I can't wait to explore it more now that I'm only 5 hours away!

The solar is a really good idea. I made mine black on one side and white on the other side. If I'm sleeping in the shell in town or a parking lot I put he black facing out so no one will know someone is sleeping in the truck.

I got measurements off another DC 3.4 auto 4x4 taco today and started lining up the motor and transmission. I cut the old transmission mount off and started making new ones.

Where is the best place to get cv axles? One has a torn inner boot, the other has a leaking inner boot. The are booth very rusty and need replaced anyway.

Got my front Bud Built skid on as well as the crossmember for the belly skid. Had to trim the front skid a little bit where it bends under the subframe like others have had to do.

Hoping the belly skid goes on without any issues tomorrow.

For OEM quality I'd recommend CVJ axles. They take OEM's and re-manufacture them with high angle inner boots.

If your current ones are OEM you can send them into them for a core charge discount. Can't remember prices off the top of my head.
