Something very common in Washington. A push axel on all semi!

Ok, drop axel on a trailer?? this is the first time I'm seeing this.

    40K Trailer??

I do not even know what this is. Let's go over: A drop axel on the trailer and then tandems followed by singles??what the hell kind of weight distribution is this?

    one more cool Pete

    ok, let the cleaning begin.

Look at the size of rocks I'm finding hidden inside fenders, roof and other small places.

    Things I would differently:
    A) Loose the roof LED bar. LED roof bar is less than useless when it starts to snow or light blow by. Each flake of snow is lite-up like a LED bulb. Also, you have to contend with hood reflection.
    B) Get bumper mount LED light bar instead of roof LED bar.
    C) Studded tires: Note, they do not install studs on old tires(as per Fairbanks tire dealer) so you have to get a new set of tires(all four).

Thanks for all the pictures OP. I guess I've grown accustomed to the scenery because it's always cool to see others perspectives on our local environment. To me, this is everyday life and I forget this, and at the same time forget what a treasure I have in my own back yard. Perhaps this summer I'll finally take my personal rig up the Dalton. I highly recommend you make your next trip up in summer.

And for those inquiring about an oosik. Its an Alaskan Native (unclear of which dialect) word for a walrus penis bone. It's also a pretty decent beer brewed by one of our best local breweries.

I love this shirt, I have one in brown. When I travel out of state people have no clue what it means.

As I turn 45 this year, never really been one to sit down and read a good book but can read through a thread like and it has my full attention. Thank you for sharing this journey.

I agree, people plan vacation to San Francisco and golden gate bridge but for me its just one way to come in and out of town. I actually try to avoid it when ever I can!!! too much traffic.

OP vijay, I was traveling back from Vancouver to Prince George and saw you just before you hit the big traffic jam for a car accident at Lac La Hache. Nice looking rig, small world!

    Thanks for the thread!

About that, was that a big accident(I had no Internet or Phone service there)? The traffic was blocked for hours. Here are some pictures of the scene...
So even locals were having difficulties...

    Yea, quite bad.

Unfortunately the story I heard was a driver going Northbound in a car tried pulling a u-turn on the highway and was struck by a Northbound pickup truck behind them. Since both cars were coming in the same direction the car was t-boned on the driver side and the driver of the car was killed. The two occupants of the truck were air lifted to hospital for serious injuries after their front end pancaked and they either spun and/or flipped over the barrier into the ditch. I was stuck for about 1.5 hours, and saw you about 2km before you would have hit the traffic.

Since moving up to Prince George from Vancouver last year I've always wanted to drive the trip you just did. Once in the winter and once in the summer to see the differences. This thread might actually make me do it. Although, I have to admit I drive a Nissan Frontier so I'd post my trip over on clubfrontier.

You should!!! don't waste time. There is always more reasons not to do but only one reason to do it. Take a bite and drive slowly...
