The tech said all he adjusted was the tow. So I would think there's room for improvement on the cams. When it comes to alignments I'm like a monkey trying to do a math problem. Haha! The truck is driving good , I'm wondering if I should just leave it and keep an eye on tire ware. Also it's hard to find a decent shop around town that keeps there alignment rack updated and does a good job. I might try the dealer next time. Thanks for your help and opinion on this. You've done a great job on your truck. You should be proud. OP I hope your lift went good. Thanks.

He should be fired IMO. He's the perfect example of your typical shop monkey who just shoots for the green and calls it good.

I need to find a good shop! As far as the upgraded shocks and springs go I'm very happy with the ride quality. It's awesome. Night and day difference from stock. Thanks for all the help

Hopefully you're not talking about me because "just adjusting toe" on an alignment after a lift isn't acceptable just because camber and caster are "within spec". Unless you're one of THOSE alignment guys?

It's within spec, guys! Ship it!

If you understood how it actually works in a shop you would undrstand why the tech puts it in the green and let it go. Time is money and techs don't have the time to fine tune your alignment just the way you want it. We have management on us to get it out and onto the next. If you wanted an alignment to your custom specs, no problem but be prepared to pay shop time. Bring me the numbers you want and I'll dial it in no problem. My own truck is.dead on and exactly how I like it but it took a couple hours of my time not including test drives. If you want that kind of result the shop rate is $110/hr plus the cost using the alignment equipment.

I'm a Toyota Tech and and specialize in alignment. You bring me your numbers and I'll dial it in anyway you like for the standard alignment cost. If you want to come talk to me, take up shop time to get it right just the way you like it, great but now your paying. On all the lifted Tacomas and Tundras I've done I've had zero tire wear and no alignment related customer complains.

You have to understand as techs we are at the.mercy of management. Shops are there to make money and they do that very well with quick and efficient techs. Get them in and out as quickly as possible with no comebacks. They pay me very well because I make them money. That's life.

I have upmost respect for OZ reading all his post but here for this one thread I respectfully disagree. My dealers alignment tech was an idiot and I don't think they calibrate their alignment machine regularly. My truck after 8 dealer alignments continued to pull right.

I think 0 camber, 0 toe and 3+ is best. But to dial that in you HAVE to find a good tech with a good and fully level alignment table.

Regardless, have the truck track straight no matter what caster you choose.

A drifting truck detracts from the joy of driving a Tacoma.

Found a small import-tuner specialist wheel and suspension shop that will work to customer numbers for a flat fee. Their tech put in the effort to get my numbers just the way I asked. Look for a similar shop in your area.

The alignment is only as good as the technician and equipment no matter where he works. Our Hunter is self calibrating so it stays bang on.

It would have been MUCH more cost effective for them to have done it right the FIRST time instead of 7 additional FREE visits.

Bring that truck to me and I guarantee you it will drive straight, have a perfectly centered steering wheel, track perfect and not wear tires.

    The first time!

Ah, you have no cross caster. Perfect if you have no road crown.

I found that I have no issues with a drift due to road crowning either although my tech brought it up at time of alignment

Depends on the roads in your area. Even some tires will make a difference. Some sensitive tires would pick up on it others no so much if at all.
