All powder coating is 10 to 20 times tougher than factory paint. If you scuff the white just rub it out.

I've done Bengal white which is spot on to super white, then we tried adding texture to it and it seem to change the actual color so they're not a perfect match.

All orders were shipped out yesterday and upgraded to 2/3 day Priority Mail so hopefully everyone will get a package before the end of this short week.

I also sent out tracking back through your PayPal email addresses.

    Got a package today.
    They look great.
Got a couple questions that may have already been answered,
After watching the video in the OP what is the reasoning for wetting the area before installing?
And is there a minimum temperature these should be installed?
Its going to down in the 30s-40s this week, too cold?

Wetting the vertical edge helps the DSP slip into place rather than accidently getting stuck before its in place. The idea is like wetting a window before the tint is applied.

Another good idea for installation in these cold temps is to warm up the sill with a blow dryer or heat gun before installing, this helps the 3M VHB react and grab hold much faster.

Not a problem like Greg said use a heat gun or hair dryer. Mine were the AC cab prototype and I installed them when it was -18F and 2 years later they are still tight as the bark on a tree. Wouldn't recommend doing it that cold, water freezes pretty fast at those temps LOL, but I didn't want to hold up production and fit results. Great product they have been through alot and still look new (when I clean the truck anyhow). And the dog likes them too :)

Several months ago, I answered the call from Greg for a 2015 AC truck to test fit DSPs. At the lower latch plate, the door sill drops down to accommodate the latch. The question was if/how to fit a DSP (as well as verify lengths.)

He sent me a set of prototype DSPs, I sent him pictures of them on my truck, we emailed a few times. As it turned out, his prototypes were just fine, and needed no additional adjustments.

That being determined, I requested a set of textured black non-diamond plate DSPs. What follows is the really easy installation process.

Here is the truck, door sills cleaned and ready for installation.

    dsp1.jpg

As it turns out, the door sill does not drop very much.

    dsp2.jpg
But, since it does sloop, I decided to put a similar bend in the DSPs.

I marked the bend to match the bend on the truck.

    dsp3.jpg
Using a vise keep the bend line straight, I bent the DSPs. Since they are aluminum, very little pressure (by hand) was needed.

    dsp4.jpg
Following the video at the start of this thread, I installed the DSPs.

    dsp5.jpg

They look awesome! The bend at the latch is more pronounced in this picture that on the truck.

I am very happy with this product. I already had a nasty scratch in the door sill thanks to an alignment tech :( Now, you can't see it!

    Thanks again, Greg!

For those of you who don't want to read through this 1200+ post thread here's what it's all about.

Toyota Tacoma owners! No more scratched up or chipped door sills!

The G-Tek Fab wrap around door sill protectors are unmatched in quality, durability and function.

They're available for the 2005/2016 Tacoma AC, DC and RC

Don't fall for cheap plastic knock offs with a fake diamond plate pattern!

The G Tek Fab door sill protectors are laser cut, machine formed from 16 gauge aluminum diamond plate or smooth finish then powder coated with a special blend of carbide texture black making them all but bomb proof.

These door sill protectors wrap the edge of the door sill where protection is needed the most!

    Thanks!

Ok it's a day late but everything's shipped and tracking info sent. My 15 year old Jack Russell started having seizures yesterday so we were at the vet most of the day. Poor little Jerry...
