Rolling resistance also hits you. Also, the effect of mass on moment of inertia increases exponentially the further away from center of rotation. That means on something like a truck with tires that have larger sidewall and tread there is a larger impact on performance than the truck wheels, and with something like a sportscar this is kind of opposite because the tires are such low profile so the wheels start to play a bigger part of the equation. Hope that kind of makes some sense ... I'm just trying to express that it is a little more complicated than straight forward measurement of weight in and of itself :)

Thanks for the suggestion unixadm I will check those out. I do like the way your truck looks with the KO2's though.

Yea I know. I'm a mechanical engineer so understand what's going on. Staying with a c rated all terrain and only going up about an inch in the OD are ways of mitigating the other variables (as opposed to 35 in e rated swampers) and trying to minimze the weight is the really only other way to try to balance it out.

On that note. Anyone have any idea on how much the stock goodyears weight? I tried looking it up and found all the tech specs except how much they actually weight

I think 42-43lbs, iirc, but that's just from looking at a chart. I'd like to actually weigh one.

Got a set of these for my 4Runner...delivered Friday, and plan to get installed tomorrow. This is the first time that I've ever purchased aftermarket wheels, so I can't really say anything about quality and fit/ finish compared to other wheels.

I can say that Dustin was rather well spoken and answered my questions thoroughly. He was also fairly easy to get ahold of. Buying from him was what I expected, so I am quite pleased overall.

I got the matte black with TRD caps and black lug nuts. Tired will be 265/70 Cooper ATP.

So does anyone know if these will clear the UCA with a 2-3" lift using a 285 tire?

do you have these mounted up yet? (or does anyone else?) will the 265 70r17's fit on the stock suspension with the 8 inch wide rim?

I don't have them mounted yet still deciding on what tires to go with. According to Dustin at FN Wheels he said there shouldn't be a problem with fitment with 265x70 and stock suspension.

The matte finish looks more like satin.

Not when compared to the Toyota Pro wheels they imitate - I like that finish better.
