TW's active 4runner builders BS thread

That was something I knew. Only the 1st, 2nd and 5th gens have the tailgate, which is something I miss a lot on my 3rd.

 

Thanks, I've been looking at either something from PIAA or Rigid. I'll receive a small deal on either from a local dealer so trying to make up my mind. I love the DOT approved Rigid Duallies but know the PIAA's will fill the circular hole a lot better

 

Since when does the 5th gen have a tail gate? All the ones I've seen and been in had hatches

 

I stand corrected...could have sworn they went back to tailgate on them. I was wrong

 

I wish they did. Tailgates are way better than hatches

 

Agreed, this is probably the conversation I was having with my friend while looking at the 5th Gens.

 

I had the DOT rigids on my 4th gen. Loved them. They looked good in my shrockworks bumper. Awesome cut off.

 

I am pretty excited to find a decent 4runner thread on tw. Ive been trying to get into t4r but I dont care for it, and Ive been lurking here since I let go of my truck. Happy to be back!

Compared to this thread it is slow lol. Compared to any other forum I'm apart of its pretty good. I joined a lot of them and it was the only one i got any help off of

ive never experienced a drop down hatch on a 4runner.

 

There isnt much I wouldnt do for one of those bad boys.

 

They have a grated road you can drive on. No ohv or off road driving. I saw a predator drone while I was there. Pretty sweet.

The biggest downside I see of the 2nd gen tailgate is the window has to roll down first. Seems annoying in snow and rain. It is cool that you can get a 2nd gen with a rear tire carrier from the factory though.
