Looks like the hood latch failed and the hood came up blocking vision. Sucks but with everything aftermarket around the hood (grill, headlights and fenders) insurance likely won't do much to help, compile that with the fact that it happened Offroad and law enforcement got involved it's def going to be a long road. Most people don't know this but sycamore does have a speed limit, and although never enforced does still exist.

Looks like it happened at the entrance to the wash too which is always busy with traffic and the worst place to be hauling ass, even tho many of us have done it.

Bottom line, everyone walked away from this. After going through this section the other direction with no traffic, the people in the artic cat that recorded the video caught up to me and we talked about all the mods on my truck. Before I took off for the last run of the day, they drove ahead to record it. While we were in the biggest of the whoop section my hood latch broke sending my hood into the windshield. The way it hit only my bro in law could see out under it. Immediately I locked the brakes and jerked the wheel. We all know ABS is shit offroad and I didn't engage my locker to turn it off or have a switch. When I jerked the wheel after the hood hit I had no response and it locked up, so when my bro started screaming right right right it was already too late and we "abs skidded" right into that cherokee, WHICH should not have been there.

The dumbass driver which was driving and trying to record me also had his gf in the passenger seat with her 2 young girls in the back seat. The oldest of the 2 girls took the full force of my truck in the rear driver side door. Driver spoke no english, had a warrant, was convicted of a DUI couple months ago and had no interlock device or license so he was arrested after they ran his records. The gf was cut up but the 2 girls were cleared from the EMT and ok.

At this point I don't know where Rinzler and our journey are headed but it was still running even after the accident. I drove it out to the main highway where we got a tow back to Phoenix. Major thanks to @Kyouto42 and @JTS2014TACO for all the help getting me outta there too. I'm so thankful to have my family and friends always willing to lend a hand and help me get through this tough situation.

Stefan, I am so sorry to read about this. What a terrible situation (hood latch) that was compounded by dumb luck (stupid cherokee). Glad you are okay man, I'd slide right into a '16 if this happened to me and they totaled my truck out. Best wishes.
