Does anyone have any info on a W59 transmission? I have looked high and low on this transmission and have came up with nothing. I have asked a few members individually, and they are willing to help but will take time. I would like to have some info before I take it apart....which is this weekend! :help:

What specifically do you want to know? I took mine apart.

Just things to check before and after taking apart, stuff like that. It looks to be a fairly simple trans from the outside.

My tip would be when you are pulling out the screw plugs and then the interlock pins and lock ball, pay special attention to which order they come out in and where they go. I found that the manual was not great for telling me how to put it back together.

just use something like 800-1000 emery cloth to polish it out. youll hook the emercloth around that shaft and spin it however you can. this should give it a good even cut/polish. at work we put a crank on a lathe, start spinning it and put a crank polisher on whatever pieces we want to clean up.
