    I have Garmin street pilot works flawless for street nav and gaia GPS topo. I just have to DL topo maps in advance. Great offline trail mapping and GPS

    What about the Sony WX-GT90BT? Seems like it's large and kinda cumbersome but offers the app? And seems to be under $170

    Hey Alan,

    That's a great suggestion, but it would be pretty much impossible to fit that radio behind the iPad with one of my kits. Single DIN radios are a tight enough squeeze as it is!

    Just did a quick search of the app involved with the head unit/iPad combo and that's the one I came across. I'm PM'd a member with a kit for sale so hopefully it all works out and I can get my hands on one of your setups. I saw this thread last night about 10 and it's all I've been thinking about during the day.

    Hey Drew,

    Update on all kits in production:

    This week was the first week since before Christmas, New Years, and CES that I was able to spend a good amount of time on the kits. That being said, I made tremendous progress this week and I should have all of the kits painted by the end of next week. It will take me a few days to put the final finishing steps on them after that, but I'm aiming to ship all of the kits February 3-6. I'll take some pictures of the progress after this weekend.

    Well, you will still have the JBL speakers and amplifier. The Sony head unit will be a higher quality source unit and you will have more control over your sound, so it should yield an overall improvement.
