What length ball hitch mounts are you guys using. Going to probably grab a 2" drop but unsure the best length to get. Obviously don't want it to long, but want it long enough that if somebody parks to close they hit that before the truck ;)

Also not to short, I need to tow a trailer and wood splitter. Opinions?

    Thanks

Trial and error. Depends on the height of the trailer tongue. take some measurements. Come up with a educated guess for what you need. Buy what you think. Keep the receipt. You know the rest of the story. Have fun!!! Easy project.

I just installed the ball hitch on my TRD OR and noticed the standard hitch pin cotter key will only fit in UPSIDE down......that is just asking for trouble.....

Why does a truck company have engineers who never seem to actually touch what they design ?

I guess I will go with a class 8 bolt and locking nut...maybe still not as hard as a standard hitch pin.

    Any other solutions ?

What do you mean specifically when you say upside-down? The orientation of a hitch pin or clip shouldn't matter.

If it is specific to your pin, they make pins that the key just snaps over a groove instead of through a hole. There are lots of other options.

I threw this on my truck. Has three balls and is infinitely adjustable. You do, however, need longer safety chains and harnesses than usual. I paid $100 CAD on special at a local truck/performance shop.
